The Huntsville, AL area has three Logan’s Roadhouse options. After our visit yesterday, I can say that Huntsville doesn’t have any options as they all have issues and I don’t recommend anyone of them. I will give a brief explanation for my stance on each: Huntsville University Drive – This location while having undergone some recent renovations has staffing issues. Our last visit we were there when they opened and was turned away due to plumbing issues and hot water issues. We were followed out by the hostess and she said that the issues had been resolved. This was just the start. The waitress took almost 15 minutes to come to the table but yet when she did we realized she had been standing over with other servers having a conversation about their night the week before. The food was good but the service at this location is a major issue. This has been the case for the last several visits so we stopped going. Madison Location – This facility I reported an issue to Logan’s and the manager contacted me and realized that their staff in the bar area was mistreating customers. He knew exactly the individual that was the issue and asked that we return but we were so badly treated, and yes, we got up and left, by the bar server and the hostess/manager on duty that we have not returned. When you are mistreated at an establishment you do have the option to take your business elsewhere which we have done ever since. Huntsville Balmoral Location – This is the latest and most recent location of issues. The outside of the location has had some renovations but the inside has had nothing done. We were seated at a table that had a ripped topper that was exposing the particle board wood and it was stained so it had been that way for a while. I covered it with their promotional item list so we didn’t have to look at this during our meal. The server was great for this visit but the food was questionable. The salad greens which I will use that term lightly were browner and more wilted than green and by the time we picked out all the bad parts were hardly left with a salad. The baked sweet potato that we both got was not fully cooked. My glass when I was almost finished with my meal my wife noticed it had a dried substance inside the glass that would come lose when scrapped with the straw. We were both tired and hungry so we ate what we could and then left. This facility is really falling down and needs some major work. Servers are usually good but food is questionable. We like the others will not be returning. I’m a Logan’s rewards member and this used to be one of my favorite places to frequent but I have no choice due to poor food quality and service to take my business to other locations that offer similar if not the same items. Logan’s corporate really needs to look at these locations and see what it is doing to their reputation and brand. I cannot recommend and hope others never have similar situations with...
Read morethe only reason i am giving this two stars is that my server was not terrible. to be clear, I've been a fan of Logan's for a long time. this was my first time at this particular one on University in Huntsville. it started off with a hostess who gave my wife attitude about the number of people in our party - we increased from 7 to 9 - although the place was nearly empty at that point (about 1:15 on a Saturday). she rolled her eyes and acted clearly exasperated, to the point my wife was apologizing multiple times (simply for saying we had 7, then saying, whoops, sorry, we have 9). it took longer than you would like to get service, but our server did get around to us, and got drinks to everyone. then she took our orders. a few people ordered lunch portions of the salmon. after taking all the orders, she came back to tell us that was only a weekday option, so they had to change their orders. from that point until our food came out was well over 45 minutes. our server was attentive to the table, keeping our drinks full, but the wait got ridiculous. finally, the food came out. the people who ran the food had no idea who got what, asking for each dish, and they missed a couple of sides, but were were eventually eating, a little more than an hour after sitting. i ordered prime rib and a veggie skewer. had i known the skewer had come straight from the grill, i would've exercised more caution, but i was not told how hot it was, and now i have two big burn blisters on my thumb and pointer finger. the prime rib, which i ordered rare, was medium at best, and tough and dry. the sentiment at the table was that a lot of the food was dry, as if some of it had been sitting under plate warmers for quite some time, but we didn't want to complain or leave at that point, as we were with two children who were really hungry. our server checked on us, but at no point did we see a manager at all - not walking around, not checking on us at our table, not anywhere. no one ever apologized for the length of time that we waited. i did show the server my burn, and she apologized for that and said that the food runners are supposed to warn you not to touch it... small pittance, i suppose. it is my understanding that there are two other Logan's in Huntsville where the food and service are of the caliber that one expects from that establishment. apparently the decline in quality at the University location is a known thing, and i would recommend avoiding that one and going to one of...
Read moreI am a restaurant manager and it pains me to be writing a review at all, much less a poor one. However, tonight was the single worst experience I've ever had in a restaurant, and that includes being a server at Waffle House on third shift. Today we made a reservation for our family who is coming from my grandmother's wake. Reservation for 14 guests at 8:30pm. The reservation was made at 2pm. I knew this is a large group to accommodate. Unless you have an expert staff, a table this size requires a minimum of two servers to keep the guests all happy. This is also not the kind of situation that you leave to a new guy in the kitchen. We got to the restaurant a little early, but they already had a table ready for us, so we thought we were off to a great start, we made our drink orders and began to banter with each-other, as you do. It took 30 minutes for the solo server to get our drinks. While waiting on drinks we placed our orders for food. As the drinks came out, three at a time, some of our salads started to come out too. I didn't get my mixed drink at all until after all of the salads had come out and my water didn't come out until after I finished my margarita. About an hour into the evening some of the food started coming out and so a couple of people got to eat. At an hour and a half about half of the table had food. At two hours, I was the last one served, after my cousin cancelled her food order, I was asked if I still wanted my food, as though I'd been waiting two hours for something that should be a hot-hold item, or at the very least pre-portioned and microwaveable. Gumbo.
Almost every cut of meat was overcooked, none of the shrimp and salmon came out as a single plate, instead having to wait for the shrimp to be cooked after the rest of the food had been served. The server spent most of the time that should have been given to a 14-top doing side-work in plain sight of our table instead of getting refills or at least apologizing for the wait with the food. I think the topping on the cake was seeing the shift manager break down crying after having it explained that the food and service was unacceptable.
This was a clear failure on Management's part. There was not adequate service provided, the cook didn't have adequate support, and the person in charge was not up to the challenge.
Upper management should be held accountable for not providing adequate support for this inexperienced and...
