Shogun Japanese Grill & Sushi Bar — Restaurant in Huntsville

Worst Japanese hibachi place I’ve ever been to. We almost walked out twice. For starters the lemons were rotten had a horrible smell and brown. We asked for new ones, those smelled worst. The water was very bad. Once we got the soup and salad. The salad was drenched in way too much sauce and after eating a few pieces and shaking it off it was brown and tasted horrible. The soup was way too salty and was not good. Service was super super slow. After reading it caused food poising to others we were about to leave but the cook just showed up at our table so we decided to give it a try. We got the filet. Medium rare. We usually get rare, but it seems like they let everything sit out too long so we got it cooked extra. Knowing in my gut we shouldn’t have stayed. A few hours after I was feeling super sick. Now I’m pretty sure I have food posing on my bfs bday…. Super disappointed. The food wasn’t anything special. It wasn’t bad though. I actually really liked the red sauce they serve next to the yum yum. Little upset with cleanliness. Needs to be evaluated on their food storage and they need to throw away bad food instead of worrying about money before it gets shut down! I was actually going to give a three star review until I started to feel sick because the main food wasn’t bad. The wine was the best part, and that was bottled in New Zealand haha. I was actually scared to drink the water. Super slow service, again. We paid $75 for two people & nothing was great. It was more bad than good. This past Saturday my family and I chose your establishment to celebrate. After our dinner was prepared we began to eat. The cook scraped the grill and walked away. About 10 minutes later while our food was still hot another guy walkes up to the grill with a bucket of water and what seem to smell like fabulous and bleach and began to whipe down the grill, all while we were still eating. Fumes immediately filled up our seating area ( because the grill was still hot.) My, as well as my family's appetite were completely ruined. We asked the guy too stop, he looked at my brother in law and continued. I then went to talk to our server. We were told that the place was "dead" and that is more than likely why he did what he did. I assured them that me and the 13 other people at our table were very much alive. And that it was very rude of them to make us inhale fumes just because business at the time was slow. Also might I add the family that was sitting next to us table was cleaned once they got up and left. How can a business treat a party so rude and then expect them to pay with a smile. We were told there was no manager on duty so there wasnt much they could do.. then someone in the party refused to pay, then and only then some compensation was offered.. they took 100 off the entire bill.. but for a party of 13 it wasn't much after being treated so rude. 10 times out of 10 I'm definitely not going to recommend!! Do better...

It was so good. We had a 4 yr old with us. The chef was having so much fun with him and the little boy was having a blast. He talked about it for 2-3 after we are there. In my opinion if a 4 yr old talked about it, it was a lot of fun. The chef made it very pleasing for all three adults also. The young boy did not want the chef to leave. The only complaint I had was the young man that seated up got upset ( and let it be known to us ) because we made reservation and he had us set up at one place, ( we had a gentleman with us that was in a wheelchair ) and we asked to move to another table where we would have more room due to the space for the wheelchair. The young man that seated is became very rude with all of us. We had to go find someone to fill our drinks, the chef stopped twice to find someone to get more of the orange sauce we were using (because NO ONE was waiting on us ). And the service time he had to get someone to bring us more water. So for the most part we had a really good time, but we almost walked out after we got the attitude from the server that say us. The manager was at the door when we asked for a bigger table, do he told the server to move us. Then we couldn't find the manager again. We wanted then to know the service we get from the young man.
