Would give zero stars if I could. I have been in the food service for over 20 years. All the way from an I hop server on up to general manager of a new dairy queen in fort worth I helped open. So I understand the dumb crap that customers do. However today we came in for breakfast like we do all the time. When we first came in our server was very nice and polite. Promptly got our drinks, took our order, and our food came out hot, fresh, and quick. My fiance went to put pepper on the eggs, which is in a grinder. He literally twisted it twice and the top popped off. Obviously it was broken before he used it. Our server came back over to bring our extra butter that i asked for, and was surprised about the mess of pepper all over his plate and the table. My fiancé was really cool about it he just wanted a clean plate and was going to transfer it over. Our server took his plate back to the kitchen for him and asked if they could remake it which was really nice of her. However, the whole time they were remaking it they proceeded to call my fiance stupid, and talk crap the whole time. The wait staff and kitchen staff was very rude. Now I know they are going to talk trash about stuff like that, but you probably shouldn't do it loud enough where we can hear you as we were sitting right in front of the kitchen. The server brought his food back and asked my fiance if he knew how to use the pepper now. She never checked back on us, and when she brought the check out she slammed it down on the table. Needless to say it really upset us, and we are beyond patient with food service employees....

The first server, McKenzie, did not seem to even want to help us when we arrived. My family and I were there for Family Weekend, at the college, because my nephew is there, as a freshman, and his first time away from home. It was during the football game, so it wasn’t busy at all. My wife, sister, and I could clearly notice the server twisting her face at us when she was trying to set our tables, considering she seemed to not want to clean the obviously dirty table that was next to where she wanted to seat us. No enthusiasm to serve us, just “my name is... I’ll be your server, what can I get y’all to drink?” My wife wasn’t even at the table yet... so we told her to wait, and then we got handed off to another server... which was fine, because that original server was absolutely horrendous. Some of the food was cold (I had cold toast on my BLT and a warm burger) and because of that first server it took 30 minutes before we even got drinks. Then the manager kept staring at us like we were an issue.
I’ve never had any problem at an iHOP before this experience. But I checked reviews on this place while there and saw that this isn’t an isolated experience for this location... I don’t understand how can someone work a service position and seem to hate everything about it, yet still be there.
I have no issues with the second server, Alex. He did his best, with what he could... but that first server, McKenzie was one of the worst servers I’ve ever dealt with. We will not be going back, and recommend the same to...
Read moreThe service was great as it was dead inside because it was a Thursday night. We were visiting because we had a campus tour the following day. We went here because after check in at the hotel and daughter wanted to swim before the pool closed it was late and lots of places closed around 9pm and 10pm. So ihop it was. There's a Denny next to it too but my one experience from 20yrs ago in Killeen steered me away from that place. The food menu shrunk and price is higher but what else inflation haven't touched? Food was good too. 2 problems though this the negative 2 stars, the Minion menu clearly states kids eat free from 4pm to 10pm. We got there at 9pm. Well they said they eat free until 8pm during happy hour? Ok whatever wasn't going to argue and make a stink. The other though is their lack of syrup I mean I used to go to n ihop and there's be 4 different type of syrup on the table waiting but I guess those days are long gone into the past. But the syrup I received my goodness was watered down badly. I understand you want to cut cost but ihop, you're mainly known for your pancakes and syrup and you cut costs there too, shame on you. It's like burger king shrinking their whopper to cut costs probably won't happen. That's was my experience here though. I haven't been to an IHOP in over 2yr mainly cause the one where I live, Killeen, is...
