To start, I highly, HIGHLY recommend Tokyo Bar and Grill or Kioku Asian Bistro over this place.
I have never, ever asked for a refund in my life. This food was just so bad I had to. In the most polite way possible, I asked if I could possibly take the food back and get a refund and the lady at the phone was the most rude, snarky employee I have ever talked to.
I am very open minded when it comes to food and would not have had a problem with the way they made it if it weren't for the fact that it was so distasteful and mushy with no flavor at all.
The reasons I asked for a refund:
Their sweet and sour chicken IS NOT sweet and sour chicken!! For one, sweet and sour chicken is supposed to be breaded chicken. The lady on the phone told me that's the way they make it and this is a mongolian GRILL restaurant not a chinese restaurant. THAT IS FINE, but do not market it as sweet and sour chicken, because it isn't.
Their teriyaki beef and fried rice also didn't have any sauce on it. The entire point of teriyaki is that it's cooked with the sauce. It was also incredibly bland and under seasoned (just like the chicken).
Their california rolls were messy and the rice was mushy. Very gross
Again, this all would have been fine if the food actually had flavor and substance!
When I told all this (in the nicest way I could, because I know some people can be mean) to the lady, she was extremely rude while saying that those weren't valid reasons for a refund. Apparently, giving us food that wasn't made like what is universally expected isn't a valid reason for a refund.
I haven't been to this restaurant in about a year and back then it was nice with very good service. Now, it has extremely rude employees and bland food. I'm usually just a pushover and I would normally just let this go but that lady was so rude!
Go to the places mentioned above instead! The staff is very friendly, and the food is loads...
Read moreThis was a very different and unique experience. I visited in mid June, on a Monday afternoon around 3 pm. (This is a college town, graduations were completed and school was out.) The atmosphere was relaxed and pleasant. The staff were very accommodating, polite and helpful. I was with friends who had been there before which made it easier for me. You can eat there or order to go. We were traveling through, so we got our order to go.
Upon entering, you go through the line, get a tray and a small silver bowl. Then you pile everything you want to eat into the bowl in a mountain heap!! Overflowing!! Meat was provided. However, being Vegan, I of course gravitate to vegetables only! At the end of the line you select the spices or seasonings, rice and sauce. I selected brown rice. Note: The sauce is what makes it, so choose wisely! There were several sauces to choose from and they allow you to taste them first! The staff person behind the counter could see I was confused on what sauce, so he suggested his favorite...Asian Chili mixed with Zesty Orange. OMG!!! The Asian Chili was too HOT!!!!! But after mixing it with "much" more of the Zesty Orange, it was Awesome!! Then the staff would take your bowl and pour everything onto this huge grill while you pay and wait for your order. After leaving, we ate a little bit in the parking lot. I wanted to keep some until arriving home. I couldn't stop eating it! It was that good! Then I was upset because I almost ate it all and started to go and order another. If they weren't three hours away, I would have gone back the next day!
Afterwards, I even asked my Alexa device what airports were nearby. I guess that's not in the database yet or I didn't ask the right question(s).
But overall, absolutely delicious! A truly wonderful and enjoyable experience and I look forward to visiting again!...
Read moreThis is a copy of the email I sent about my experience. I expected someone to at least respond, but I got nothing. Hence the one star review. The staff was GREAT, the food was GARBAGE.
On Saturday, while out celebrating Mother's Day with my Mom, she saw your restaurant and wanted to eat there for her special day. She lives in Crockett, so we opted to pick it up and take it home. I wanted to tell you about our experience. The staff was SO INCREDIBLY FRIENDLY! I felt so very welcomed and every one was smiling (even though you all were VERY busy). My order wasn't ready when I got there, but the young lady at the bar was so nice, waiting wasn't a problem.
My frustration comes from the food. We ordered two servings of the ramen, but it didn't look ANYTHING like what was pictured on your website. My Mom liked hers, but I was not a fan. We ordered two kinds of sushi, one chicken, one scallop. Both were put in the same box, and got mixed together. For me this was really challenging because I don't eat seafood.
Mom ordered the Lexington roll, because she LOVES scallops. Her sushi only had three, very small pieces of scallop. She also ordered it with the soy paper wrap (which I was charged for), but it did not come with that. The last order was for lettuce wraps. The filing was good, but the lettuce provided was terrible. It was all the white part of the lettuce, near the core, and not nearly big enough to make a wrap with.
I've heard such good things about Yummy Yummy, and I was so excited to treat my Mom my for her Mother's day meal, but very disappointed in the food. Again, the staff was INCREDIBLE! I just wish the...
