Sonic Drive-In — Restaurant in Huntsville

This place has gone downhill in the past few years. Between having an issue where the employees place food that has already been in the customer's car and touched by the customer back into the cooking grease a few months back and now botching a simple app order for a route 44 Dr Pepper. I placed an order from the app for a Route 44 Dr Pepper. Upon arrival I checked in on the app and stated what stall I was in. The screen in the stall welcomed me and let me know that the order was received. From there the wait started. 10 minutes passed. Other cars have arrived, ordered and left with their purchase. Finally the screen says that Brandi is headed my way with my order. The wait continues. By this time the screen has reset and is ready for the next order. 5 minutes pass (15 minutes total) and I press the button to see where Brandi is. They don't have my order, they know nothing about my order. Meanwhile I have already been charged for my order. I explain to the lady on the speaker that I have a receipt for the order that I never received. She finally brings out a simple Route 44 Dr Pepper. This Sonic was awesome 8 years ago, but now the staff doesn't seem to care or want to be there and the Manager or Owner seems to allow short cuts and very very poor standards. I will NEVER be back to this Sonic ever again. I would just as soon drive across town to the other Sonic or just go to a different establishment all together. After 5 trips in 5 weeks (one a week), this Sonic proves itself to be very good and consistent! Thr onion rings and tots were, jn every visit, hot, fresh, and real good. Mozzarella sticks 4 of the 5 visits, were excellent and hot, fresh. One of those visits they were cool and not fresh at all. The fries have been soggy and cold every visit, but in contrast, the shake machine has been on each visit. That's a rarity in the fast food industry! The people taking orders were, each time, friendly and efficient, personable and an absolute charm to speak to (male and female.) On the car hop side, it's mostly kids. 4 of the 5 trips, we received mostly unwarm, unsmiling, unappreciative car hops. We were never thanked for tipping or coming to the establishment by car hops. (Our visits were always past 6 pm on weeknights, and business was different each time. Either slow paced or upbeat and busy.) Overall, great food, entrees always right, made as ordered, and fresh/hot. Recommend this Sonic for sure! Just don't expect a lot of appreciation for your patronage by car hops, just the faceless voice behind the red button...

Let's get my biggest gripe out of the way before I start gushing about this Sonic! My gripe is the kiosks. Every time we go, we seem to get a stall that isn't working. And since it's highly unlikely that we're using the same stall I'm pretty sure there are multiple kiosks that aren't working much of the time. It's frustrating because sometimes the way it's broken you don't realize it until you've been waiting for a while. So that's the thing for me. I wish they'd put some money into fixing the place up.

About the food now... Oh my word, they have the best burgers!! I don't like crappy hamburgers so I've always been a Whataburger girl but lately they've been puny and Sonic is THE place for a burger!! Everything is divine and I love that the drink options are off the chart. Pro tip: get the GROOVY FRIES!! (You can thank me later!) And for breakfast?
