Consistency is missing from this location on a grand scale. I was unable to order extra white rice from their online ordering platform , Beyond Menu. This location has only recently gained my business back after over a year. They lost it one Sunday morning when my family and I showed up actually before they even opened (we did not know this) yet they still seated us. The front doors were standing wide open (that's why we didn't notice the sign with business hours) so we went in about 20 minutes before they actually opened. Without telling us they weren't open, they sat us just to wait 20 minutes before having access to food. When we did gain access to food the white rice was from the night before (it was opaque and hard) along with most everything else they put out on the buffet. DO NOT SERVE YOUR LEFTOVERS TO MY COMMUNITY. THAT IS DISGUSTING BEHAVIORS AND YOU CAN MORE THAN AFFORD TO DO BETTER.
I refuse to set foot inside that building to dine in because also during our last visit when my daughter went to use the bathroom all of the cleaning chemicals were sitting out right there on the floor for anybody to harm themselves on.
Overall I find a lack for community care and consistency with this location. I feel the only reason they are able to keep business is because there is no direct competition for them in this community. I sincerely look forward to the day that this business decides to rethink their policies and start providing the community with proper options and not just left over food.
Please take this into consideration as well, if you overcook somebody's to go order would you please not send it on anyways? Could you please remake it properly and start training your cooks better instead of allowing your customer base to have to suffer your inadequacies? Like I mentioned before, you're lucky enough to not have much direct competition but you shouldn't take advantage of it to treat your community so...
Read moreUpdate as for some reason I'm not able to post a new review. Wow, I've been to Mandarin House literally dozens of times for the buffet over the past few years and I'm always satisfied with the food; however I've also ordered online for pickups at least half a dozen times and they NEVER have had the orders ready on time even if I ordered hours in advance. Last night I thought I'd be smart and place my pickup time 10 minutes prior to the actual pickup time - guess what, they had given my order to another customer before I arrived and then acted as if I was the one who was mistaken even though my name and phone number was on the order they gave to the wrong customer! Because of this I had to wait an additional 15 minutes for my real order, and they didn't even give me fortune cookies! I hope they reimburse the poor customer who arrived home with the wrong order, I'm vegetarian so I'm sure they weren't pleased when they opened the bag!
Original review: I like Mandarin House, however last night was the third time in the past year that I placed my order hours in advance using the Beyond Menu app; and I had to wait 20 minutes past my selected pick up time to get my food. I could understand if the restaurant was busy but it wasn't, don't bother ordering in advance because it doesn't help get your food when you...
Read moreI'm a regular at this restaurant, and I've never been disappointed once. Service is great as a reviewer mentioned below. Glasses always full and you're plates are whisked away while you're busy getting another round. They have a mini sushi bar which isn't that impressive, but for some it's got to be better than nothing at all. They have a grill, but unfortunately it's only operated on wednesday's. They have many assorted fruits and desserts and a cooler with tubs of ice cream.
As far as the buffett goes it usually has the same food, but it's good food and when you're in that mood for some chinese, it hit's the spot. They have seafood, assorted chicken dishes, beef dishes, veggie dishes, spring and egg rolls, the list goes on. Even winnes-in-a-blanket, cheese sticks and stuff for the kids. None of the food I've had there has been too greasy or undercooked. Their hot and sour soup is pretty damn good as is there wonton soup which has giant wontons and fresh scallions to sprinkle over.
When I can't or don't feel like driving out to an 88 Buffett, this is where I go when I want a variety of food at my finger tips. I prefer this restaurant over the Tai Pan Palace downtown, and I've been going there since before I went to...
