In truth, this is probably around a 3.5 for me, but for what it is, it's pretty good, so I'll round up to a 4!
This is fast food Italian, in the sense that there's a drive through! This is super convenient and a huge draw for me. The drive through operated at a reasonable enough pace imo at around 11:30 on a Wednesday. Maybe 4 cars ahead of me, took ~12 minutes to get through. Maybe a little more. Still, for fresh enough food that isn't your standard burger fare, I'm pleased.
I haven't been inside, so idk about cleanliness or atmosphere, but the folks staffing the drive through were polite. The menu includes pizza, pasta, and paninis. My meal (oven baked chicken tetrazzini with breadsticks + a medium Diet Coke) ran me ~$13. It was a large enough meal to share or to have as leftovers later.
Overall, I was happy with my meal. Ideally, I could've gone for a little more flavor / punch on the chicken tetrazzini, but it was creamy, large, filling, and the pasta was cooked nicely. Decent amount of peppers and onions in there too. The breadsticks were totally a highlight! Big, suuuuuper buttery, fluffy, and just delicious! Two came with my meal, which was a pleasant surprise.
One last note, be careful unpackaging your oven baked pasta dishes -- mine must have just come out, because it was HOT! Hot enough to make me jump and jerk my hand away. Luckily it was already sitting on the table, but I could definitely see myself dropping it had I picked it up.
Overall, I'd return here for a convenient lunch or supper. They still have family meals available if that's...
Read moreWe decided to have dinner here when we got caught in Huntsville traffic, and realized we wouldn't be getting home until after seven. It was me, my husband, and our four daughters.
We were a little confused when we walked in. Judging from the outside, we thought it was just a little quick serve place, which was born out when we saw the counter and cash registers.
However, we ordered and then they assigned us a waitress. Once we were seated, she brought us our meals, and checked in on us every few minutes. She was very friendly and cheerful, but I'm not really sure what the point of having a waitress was, because all of the drinks and such were self-serve, and we had already ordered a dessert to share.
The food itself was okay, but I don't understand the hype around it (highly recommended by several friends). I had the chicken parmesan and shared a slice of cheesecake with my girls.
It wasn't bad food, just kind of bland. It honestly kind of reminded me of a particular low-cost "Italian" restaurant chain. We cook this stuff at home.
Since we didn't realize that we were going to have a waitress when we paid, we hadn't left a tip on our charge. This led to me scrambling to find a couple bucks worth of change from the car. I hope their waitresses aren't being paid as waitresses, because I'm pretty sure that I'm not the only patron who has been caught in this situation.
In the end, the odd blend of quick serve/sit down service, plus the so-so food leaves Tellini's a little lower down on my list of places to return to. It was friendly and avceptable, but didn't really...
Read moreStopped by for a late lunch. It's been over two years since my last visit. The place looked pretty much the same. Rustic but clean. I normally order the meatball sub. Except this time the sandwich was a thousand times better. They changed everything about it and I can't say that I've ever had one better. The bread was lightly toasted, the meatballs didn't taste like they had been frozen, and the cheese was perfectly melted and delicious. Amazing! I was able to order two bread sticks that had dipping sauce and the sandwich came with either chips, fruit , or salad. I opted to get the fruit and was not disappointed at all. Every single item in the fruit mixed bowl was as fresh as fruit can be. It was mixed with the perfect combination of fruit that was cold even after I finished my sandwich. The lady that took our order and brought our food offered impeccable service. She came by and checked on us at least three times. Each time was the perfect time and wasn't intrusive or bothersome. As for gratuity, I left a tip as much as the cost of my meal and felt like I should have given more. I will definitely be eating there a lot more often and hope the other employees offer the same level of quality service and food. I enjoyed the food a lot more than North Italia Never thought I would say that Tellini's was outstanding. But I'm saying it now! Congratulations to the owner and...
