Stopped in on a reference from a local business man. Asked about the seafood bisque soup they brought a sample of both soups of the day. The seafood bisque was amazing(and iim not a seafood soup guy.) the other was a nice take on chicken and dumplings also worth a try. But my friend and i had the bisque. Then Ellen our nice waitress brought out fresh rolls. Hot crispy and soft in the middle with fresh soft butter. I had the chipotle burger. Fresh hand made Angus beef Patty, Monterey jack, jalapeños chipotle sauce, nice bun. Very good not to spicy. REALLY good fries. My friend had the lasagna it was about a pound, had a meat sauce and cheese everywhere, he ate half. As we are truckers I keep threating to eat the rest when he falls asleep. Looks like what my grandma and mom used to make. Then we had to have the home made pie I had the coconut cream, i f the fridge was bigger I would have gotten a whole one. I think I made love to it, or it made love to me, either way i was sticky and happy. My friend had cream cheese pecan. Looked good, but I was in love with my pie, so I didn't look twice. I would say this is the best home cooking type meal I've had in last six months on the road. My friend didn't say much that's saying alot. Atmosphere comfortable, waitress busy but good, drinks stayed full. Bathrooms small but clean. My conclusion if you haven't waited tables you don't know how hard it is to keep smiling at grumpy demanding people. If you come into a place happy and treat people good you will get treated fair. If that is not good learn how to cook. Thank you I hope I can come...
Read moreAbsolutely RIDICULOUS service here. My family and I just tried to go here for brunch. When we came in, the hostess said they just needed to clear a table for the four of us. She then proceeded to either go talk to her coworkers in the back or stand at the hostess stand doing nothing, while another employee was cleaning the table at a snail’s pace. A pair of women came in and were seated immediately. Then another large party came in, and when the hostess asked if they were ok with lunch (they stopped serving breakfast at 11, it was now 10 past), they said that they had called and someone from the restaurant told them they served breakfast until 12. The hostess told them that wasn’t true, so the woman said “ok bye,” and the family left. By now, the table which was being cleared for us was ready as well as another table which I’m sure was ready the whole time. However, the hostess was not at the hostess stand, but rather she was chumming it up some more with her coworkers in the kitchen. We heard her LOUDLY re-enacting the situation with the family that came and left to her coworkers, in front of us and everyone in the restaurant. Incredibly inappropriate, unprofessional, and rude to a laughably embarrassing degree. So we left. We came for the expected good food, but too bad we never got to try it due to the terribly service. I’m sure the hostess went and talked crap about us leaving too. I didn’t catch the hostess’ name, but whoever was working today (8/17) at 11am needs to be fired or have a very...
Read moreAround 8 AM today, I visited this place with a group of gal pals and felt incredibly nervous. I struggle with contamination OCD—and eating out is one of my biggest stressors. I scanned around for something safe in my mind on the menu and decided on sourdough toast, though was unsure if only settling on a side dish was optional.
The place was definitely busy, but the waitresses and servers were so incredibly kind and helpful. Constantly refilling drinks without being asked, but not in an annoying way. When my order was being taken, I told the waitress (a blond woman) about my OCD and asked if toast as a side dish was okay. She immediately reassured me and told me it was absolutely an option. When she brought the toast out, she reassured me again and told me I had nothing to be ashamed of; it is part of who I am, which instantly made me feel safer and more comfortable to eat. And how such a simple plate of toasted bread could taste so delicious! That was another plus.
When I was finished, I went to thank her again and she pulled me into a sidehug and told me it was no problem at all. I left that place feeling not only satisfied and comfortable, but with a bit of hope to come back and try something out of my comfort zone.
Thank you very much. If someone reading the reviews potentially suffers with the same condition, I recommend giving this place a chance. All my friends loved their...
