Okay this place is great! There is another Mexican place right across the street, don’t be swayed by the cute patio. The food and drinks are better here. There is outdoor seating in the front of the building. We had tacos and guacamole and really the only small comment was I wanted salt in the guacamole. Super easy fix. My brother mixed his chorizo and pastor tacos and loved them. I had the chorizo and the carnitas. Both were flavorful and full tacos. Also normally I would say I like flour tortillas over corn because they get hard and fall apart (yes I know don’t care I like what I like). HOWEVER these corn tortillas stayed soft, didn’t fall apart, and had great corn flavor. And the margaritas- yum! I had the spicy habanero and it was spicy. I order pepper margaritas all the time and they never have spicy, this one is spicy and boozy.

NORTH ELMHURST LOCATION 2 steak tacos & bottled drink $8.45 Steak is great quality, no greasy pieces, I would say this is what you are paying premium price for and what I know to expect from having dined at their downtown Elmhurst location. Personally would appreciate double tortillas instead of single wrapped. Do not think this would raise food costs much. What is different from the Elmhurst location is that after you order at the register you are handed a beeper. Cooks put your food in the kitchen window and you go up to window to retrieve your food when your beeper goes off. There was some confusion with whose orders were whose, and there were not many people in the restaurant. I could see this potentially being a problem during high volume hours. The person I assume to be the general manager picked up my plate, which was nice.

I had high hopes for Guac n Tacos, but unfortunately, the experience fell flat. Upon arrival, we were seated quickly, but it took over 10 minutes for a waiter to even come by and take our drink and appetizer order, despite the restaurant not being busy at all. We started off with the guacamole and chips, hoping for something special since “Guac” is in the restaurant’s name. Sadly, the guac was very mediocre—definitely not what I expected. I’ve had much better guacamole elsewhere. For our main course, we ordered the veggie tacos and the veggie bowl. Both were disappointing. The flavors were lackluster, and the overall quality just wasn’t there. Given the slow service and underwhelming food, I don’t think I’d come back. There are plenty of other places that offer better service and more flavorful food.

first order was takeout. Bag of chips and guacamole for 6.60 is a lot, but at least the chips were good and they gave us a good amount of guacamole between the two of us. Tacos were okay, although a little greasy. .60 to add cheese and .60 for avocado on each taco... I could count the shreds of cheese on one hand, and they forgot the avocado. Salsa was good.

Second time, I ate in. Place is not busy. Decor is nice! Place has no working central heating. Despite being open for a while now, heat still doesn’t work? At these prices? I told them that they forgot my avocado last time, and I’d appreciate that they would add additional cheese. I see my tacos placed up in the window, they decided not to buzz me. I walked up after a few minutes, saw the cheese was trace levels again. I asked the guy at the window “no more cheese?” He said nothing. Keep in mind if you like cheese on your tacos, this is not the place for you. 3.50 per small taco to have very small amounts of cheese is not worth it, and there’s no option to spend more money to have an adequate amount.

Third time, friend insisted we go. It’s cold, like “incidental radiated heat from the kitchen and neighboring business” cold. I got a few steak tacos no cheese, and chips and guac. Steak looks and tastes old. Oil literally pours out of the taco, and smells old and tastes like a dirty cooktop. It hurt my stomach... it was dry and oily and disgusting. The chips were in a small basket... it couldn’t have been half of the chips we were given the first time. The guac was also half a portion than last time... that someone could look you in the eye, charge you almost $7 and hand you what you would get unlimited at many other restaurants for free plus 3-5 bucks for a generous dollop of guac is just gobsmacking. The customers lounge and socialize in the dining room... and there’s a whole lot to be done in a restaurant this far off the mark.

A reason why you need consistency in a restaurant would be this: that you generally pay upfront for non-service restaurants, and if you don’t accept a standard then it is your fault for buying it... so complaining and asking for a customized experience from a restaurant is rude and stupid and ultimately embarrassing over what should be an insignificant bill in the grand scheme of things. Therefore in order for me to come back to this restaurant, I need to be able to expect a consistent minimum standard of portions, quality and experience. Even a single taco with cheese at $3.50 is not worth knowing if...

Awesome food! The chicken tacos have an unbelievable flavor! Doesn't normally come w/ lettuce, cheese, and salsa, but they will add. LOVE the fresh cilantro. And, I am not a soft corn tortilla fan (love crunchy corn, and flour), but my daughter urged me to try them. WOW! I'm glad I did! They make them fresh there, and I was VERY pleased with the flavor! Not grainy like most, have a tender corn flavor, and a little bit of sweetness. HIGHLY recommend! AND, I CAN'T SAY ENOUGH about the AWESOME customer service! My daughter went there on a Friday, and I asked her to get me tacos to go for my lunch on Saturday, but to please package the shells, and cheese separately, so it would not be "gooey" the next day. Without asking, they packaged ALL ingredients separately, as the person that waited on her said, "Oh NO, you can't eat mushy tacos! That's the worst!" What. Customer. Service! WOW! I am WAS VERY impressed. In addition, my company buys us Saturday folks lunch once a month (thanks company!) and we are always looking for new places that can accommodate an early lunch, as we start at 6 am, and want "lunch" at 10:30. I called them, as they open at 10 am on Saturday, to see if they could do individual orders. (I need them boxed and labeled per person.) Talked to the Manager, who assured me they could, and then the OWNER called me back (not because I asked the mgr to...) to assure me they could fulfill our order and find out the best way for us to get the order to him. I gave him the date, AND he followed up 2 days prior to make sure I was still planning to order, make sure I had all the necessary information to get him the order, and assure me they could accommodate our needs. Bottom Line: Food is Very Good (only gave it that rating because I've only tried one thing...), and the Service is OUTSTANDING. I'm very picky about service (I work in a Call Center, and KNOW what good service is...), but these guys knocked it out of the park on step one! HIGHLY RECOMMEND...

We had visited a few months ago as they were closing and we had stopped for a drink. They were very attentive for the 15-20 minutes we were there. I decided we needed to go back for dinner. Last night we went back with some friends at about 7 pm. Our friends ordered some tacos and my husband and I were going to share the steak dinner. Our server (who was great) returned to tell us they no longer had steak. They had it for tacos but not “uncut” for our steak dinner. What?? How does a restaurant run out of steak in a Tuesday at 7 pm? While were trying to choose a diff dinner, our friends’ tacos arrived. They asked to have them returned until we could all get our food. Otherwise 2/4 of us would be eating, while my my husband and I waited for our new order. The manager seemed thoroughly annoyed that the food was sent back and could be seen complaining about it to another employee.

Bathroom: the men’s and women’s bathrooms had NO toilet paper. We were told that the cleaning crew didn’t leave any. Also, the women’s bathroom didn’t have a lock. Our server told us after that it locks from the outside?? I was afraid someone was going to walk in AND ended up using paper towel as toilet paper.

We spent a lot of money on one appetizer, 11 drinks and 4 dinners. The experience was not great. The food was just ok. We didn’t feel much response to keep us satisfied or...
