I thought with a name using open pit BBQ that I would smell it before the door or when I opened the door, I didn't. We got the 3 piece sampler. It was ribs, tri tips, and pulled pork. Ribs - dry and over cooked. When the bone crumbles, it's overcooked. Pulled pork - very plain. No smoke flavor and had no seasoning taste from the rub. Tri tips - must be their version of a brisket. No real flavor and the bark didn't even have flavor. We also got grilled vegetables. I'm got sure they never saw a grill. Maybe a frying pan. I sampled the beans, they shouldn't taste like chili. Simple brown sugar, molasses, and a little pulled pork could turn those around. I know BBQ is different everywhere, but there is at least a standard that everyone needs to meet in order to be called a BBQ restaurant. Best advice, visit Virginia, Texas, and Georgia.

Friendly and patient service, but OK food. We arrived at the restaurant 20 minutes before 9(the closing time of the restaurant.) We sat down at one of the many tables in the upper part of the restaurant. We were greeted by a friendly and attentive waiter who took our orders almost immediately. As for the food, our ribs were bland and chewy. The burger on the other hand was great, with the perfect amount of seasoning and ingredients. Our salad was oversalted, but otherwise fine. Overall, a good restaurant.

Great vibes, good service and good food. I ordered a stuffed potato with pork. It came out with no meat. They quickly fixed it and were extremely apologetic. Potato and the pulled pork were good. Not a huge fan of the coleslaw. Pickle Fries with the Chipotle Mayo were great! Will definitely give it another try! Price was actually decent compared to other restaurants in town.

As I do my own smoking at home, I never go out to this type of restaurant because they never do it right. This night I just wanted to go out for a beer so we showed up here with low expectations for beer and a snack. Gus' is the exception to the rule. We had the sausages, pulled pork, and the ribs. It was all some of the best I have ever had! If a smokehouse in a grocery shopping center could get Michelin stars, Gus' would get 2. This is my new favorite restaurant.

A couple suggestions for the owners: Have a live music night for local acts (not sure if there are any local acts, but it would be nice to have some live music. Better draft beer selection. Also, are the beer glasses small? Maybe offer 2...

We had dinner due to it's high rating of 4.3 and pictures posted. Very nice restaurant. Server was friendly. Burger and fries were good(not considered a bbq item for us). Unfortunately, my 1/2 lb $17 brisket was dry, 3 meat platter which consisted of chicken, sausage, and rib was dry. The pulled pork was best because it was moist not sure if it was because they added sauce to warm up, it was served with mac and cheese (dry) and bbq beans. We ate at 4:30pm, it was slow but food should have been of good quality for the total price of $83.00. Only posting because my hungry husband is not a picky eater and he wouldn't eat all his food due to it's poor quality. We didn't complain, we paid our bill with 15% tip. We...
