I visited this establishment with my family, expecting a simple treat on our vacation, but instead left feeling appalled. Despite the shop not being crowded, the staff appeared visibly overwhelmed and stressed. The ordering process was a bit disorganized as three people took over my order of 4 ice creams. I informed the first employee that two of my children have nut allergies and specifically requested cookie dough and mint chocolate chip flavors for them. The mint chocolate chip was appropriately retrieved from the back due to the allergy, but I was unsure whether the same precaution was taken with the cookie dough, as it was handed to me while I was placing the rest of my order with a second employee.
Since I was unsure how the cookie dough was handled, I politely asked the third employee who took over my order, if we could get a cookie dough from the back since it was also for a nut allergy, and his response was shockingly irritated. He asked me to clarify my question, but before I could even finish explaining my concern and request, he impatiently took the ice cream from me and aggressively threw it in the trash a couple feet away, rudely stating that they would just remake it. As this was happening, the initial employee who gave me the cookie dough yelled from the back that she had already given me ice cream from the back, but the chaotic conduct of the staff left me questioning the accuracy of her claim. My concern and attempt to ensure my children's safety was met with unprofessionalism and irritation, which is absolutely unacceptable in any food service environment. Given that I was holding my baby and had my two older daughters by my side, the attitude I experienced was extremely rude and unprofessional from a venue that claims to be kid-friendly. I expect a greater standard of customer service....
Read moreWe really enjoyed this ice cream place because they have large waffle cones, and because the owner has gone to such great lengths to create a little Shangri-La in the back of the property where people can eat and visit in peace at little tables with flowers on them and a quite, forest setting. One can see the effort that they have gone through to make this a very pleasant experience. One criticism that I have is that there aren't enough flavors, and that I didn't see any soft serve ice cream here. So, for instance, when I ordered chocolate ice cream, because I didn't read the menu fast enough or carefully enough, I hadn't seen that it was a chocolate-peanut butter mix. I personally hate any kinds of nuts or peanut butter in my ice cream. So I would recommend that they carry more straight on flavors, along with the specialized mixes, at this restaurant. But even though I didn't like my particular choice of ice cream that day (again, my fault), I really enjoyed the atmosphere that the owner had...
