The worst experience I have ever had. I am a Restaurant Manager for a Restaurant Group and as someone who has been in this industry for several years, I have never had an experience like this before. I understand being overbooked on parties and short staffed and that is when your management should really be stepping up. We held my sons birthday party there yesterday, you guys have a whole agenda of how the two hours will be spent, we were suppose to have a host/server at our table. After arriving, I noticed we were one of many parties, only two other parties had arrived before us, there were several staff members running around setting the tables up. About 10 minutes after our party had started, a young man came up to me and confirmed the order. He told me he was going to go get that into the computer, our server was running late and someone would be with us shortly. So we waited. Finally there was someone who looked to be a manager setting up the table in front of us so I asked her if we had a server, no one had helped us yet other than the man who confirmed our pizza order, she explained that they were overbooked on parties and didn’t have enough staff for each table, but that management and the servers would all be taking care of us. She was very helpful. She must have been at the end of her shift because we didn’t see her the rest of the evening. No one ever came over to wait on our party, we had to ask for our adult beverages, plates, napkins, the cake i had pre ordered from them, plates for the cake, the ice cream i had pre ordered, i mean we had to go and hunt someone down to get anything. And when it came down to the parties eating pizza, every single table - ones who showed up way after we did- had their pizzas and were almost done eating by the time our pizza came out. We had to hunt someone down for that as well. Several of the parties had a host at their table the whole time interacting with the kids, cleaning everything up, refilling drinks, but not once was our party checked on. There was a girl who was standing next to our table, who we asked like are we getting a server and she responded with that her and another man are actually the event coordinators and not even suppose to be out on the floor. That blew my mind, I work with event spaces and our event coordinator is at every single event and she will bus tables, pour drinks, whatever is needed, just as a manager should do. Anytime we asked her for something she rolled her eyes and slowly went to do it. She hated her life. When it came to the end we had to throw all of our trash away, plates, cups, etc to make room just for my son to open gifts. Then a server came up to me with the bill and said she had heard we didn’t have a good experience and asked if i would like to talk to the GM. And this is why I HAD to write this review. He approached our table as if we were inconveniencing him. I explained everything, he said the same thing the lady had told me earlier- which brings me to this, i never once saw this man on the floor, checking on any of these parties, if you knew you were overbooked and short staffed as the GM you should be making sure everything is going smoothly and everyone is happy. He asked if he could give me game points or tickets for when we come back, i told him no thank you, honestly thinking to myself surely that is not going to make up for my sons birthday party being the worst restaurant experience I’ve ever had. He comped the rest of our bill, which was very nice since it was such a stressful party. But what really bugged me, other than his attitude towards me, was that he told me “please just when you do the survey rate us at afleast a 9 or else my staff has to go through training again and it’s just a real pain and I’d hate for them to get kicked because corporate overbooked us” NEVER would i EVER suggest to a guest that they should rate us at a certain point and honestly your staff very clearly does need re training and your “event coordinators” should be fired immediately, along with this General Manager. Read moreI am livid (made reservations last week for Sunday -today July 27th at 1:30pm for my daughters 4th bday
The big issue is that Chuck E. Cheese at this location in independence,mo. Should’ve been shutdown… for today or how many days it takes to get their AC working
Reason why … their AC is not working to the standards to keep the public comfortable. They had a portable AC to help “cool” the place . I made a complaint like. What’s going on in here? Other people were sweating the workers were sweating…we became miserable …with the AC on (their portable cause the main unit wasn’t working) brought the temp to around 80F. I literally had to go take a (hit) of the AC -stand in front of it- I’m on mediations that I can handle heat too well so I was getting nauseous.
Then later when I went to get cooled off I went back the portable AC was off Due to water area being full… so it started getting uncomfortable.
I’m more pissed at how much I spent at this place in total and then also pizza. They messed up on a pepperoni pizza cause it stuck to the pan. So they had to remake it…
My family and I wished they would’ve just shutdown the place and send a notification of the issue at hand and we could’ve rescheduled for a better time. I’m going to try and get money back or credit through the high ups.
I’ve never been so disappointed in Chuck E. Cheese in my life like I was today… my kids cheeks were red from how hot and uncomfortable it got today….
And then they wouldn’t just give us a salad to be like hey we’re sorry for it being miserable in her. You know to make things ok. But they proceeded to charge us $12 per plate for 3 people who wanted salads….
*there was a chair that was reported to the person behind the desk because it had a bad leg. Just alerted the worker and they said they would get to it later…. Well if you get a lawsuit because of a chair. You’ll see why and it was brought to some workers attention….
I’ll post...
Read moreThey get you by making you order as soon as you get in with a very confusing menu... I ordered a XL pizza, salad bar, 2 sodas and- on the advice of the cashier- 90 minutes play time for my 4 year old....it came up to....freaking $99!!!! I have no understanding even now, the next day. I have been there before and it didn't cost but maybe half that. I was rushed my daughter was pulling on me I didn't know what I needed to buy but after I got dragged to a table by my very excited little girl, I sat and actually enjoyed a salad uninterrupted which, at that time, made the $100 feel valid 😂 no but while nice no, I'm kidding. I started noticing little promo signs and whatnots....i could have got a birthday party for the same price according to the video the play on the large wall..OH! And you can't forget the extra $12 you have to pay if your little one wants to enjoy the trampoline zone...with socks that are included with the $12...you have to get THEIR socks. I saw more promo signs saying unlimited play for $8... I guess the difference is whether you want to get tickets you can turn in or not. Spoiler Alert! The tickets aren't worth it if you have a little-little. The games don't pay out worth anything and the prizes you end up MAYBE being able to get at the prize/merch counter are the kinda cheap plastic or sugar junk you'd expect. All in all great time for the little ones very expensive however just make sure you know exactly what you want before going in there. I think everything else is great- the pizza was great, the food was great, service is.... not great but they were trying. I'll be back to this location,.no doubt but I'll be better prepared by checking the website...
