OUTSTANDING, AMAZING, TERRIFIC, and most importantly DELICIOUS! That is all I have to say about this location. This review is long overdue. I came in after pumping gas at the Sam's Club nearby and only found this hidden Gem with a quick Google search. My wife has never had African food and I've never had Fufu and have heard wonderful things about it. Trust me y'all, it didn't disappoint. The sweet lady (Stella) was soo appreciative of me wanting to try her food that she had hooked me up with the most surprisingly delicious food I've had in a while. Sometimes it worth it to just be daring and try new things. I kind of don't want to spoil it for anyone reading this so skip the next few lines if you'd want to discover it for yourselves. It reminds me of a giant mochi ball. That you can enhance the flavor of depending on the sauce you eat it with. Stella was kind enough to give me 3 different sauces. Peanut sauce, their DREAM sauce (I want to say it is tomatoe base), and a Pepper sauce which I really enjoy. I also dipped the Fufu into the Egusi which is soo delicious that you can also use it as a sauce on it's own as well. Y'all we live here in KC and I would say the the Smoke brisket that they serve here can rival any place here. So if you like BBQ you'll love this place. I'd say it's BBQ with an African Twist. So Stella tells me that they are from Cameroon as their food would be categorized as West African food. All I know is that Good Food is good no matter where it's from. I'd dare say that they do their heritage proud with this Delicious representation of their culture. We opted to have the Brisket plate with Egusi and I can't help myself with the Oxtail. It was some of the largest portions of Oxtail and most tender and scrumptious that I've ever had. If you're wanting to be adventurous and be rewarded with some delicious food and excellent service please come by the mall and stop in at the food court and Stella may make your African Dream Cuisine come true and fill your bellies. I most definitely will come again with family...
Read moreI want to start by saying the owner (I believe she’s the owner) is incredibly sweet and welcoming. She kindly let me know that food preparation would take a bit longer, which I appreciated—especially since she seemed to be working solo. Totally understandable!
I ordered the oxtails with potatoes, rice, and coleslaw, along with the goat served with egusi and fufu. The fufu was delicious smooth and well-made and the goat was very tender and flavorful. What caught me by surprise was the egusi—it had a green color and texture I’d never seen before, so that was a new experience for me.
As for the oxtails, they were massive! Honestly, they looked and felt more like big bones than meaty cuts. There wasn’t much meat on them, and they were a bit overcooked and chewy for my taste, though the seasoning was on point.
Overall, I’d definitely come back and try something different next time. The flavors were there, the vibe was good, and the owner’s warmth made it...
Read moreI have been wanting to try Fufu and African Dream Cuisine came up. Upon looking at the menu it all looked amazing. So I go up to order in the store and that's what is going to make me order there more often. Let's start with Ms. Stella she has the MOST beautiful heart of anyone I have come across. She's beautiful and treated me with so much respect. She answered all of my questions and was patient. You can tell when food is made with love because it is that much better and when I tell you she made my families meal with love, she made it with love. The portion size is big and her sauces all were delicious. The cost was very affordable for the amount we get. Her food will go down in my book as the best home cooked meal EVER. I am so glad I went there and had an all around amazing experience. Thank You and I love...
