While I am sure this restaurant could be great, my experience was TERRIBLY AWFUL. They were understaffed and the waitress continued to make excuses for their staff’s mistakes rather than apologize. As someone who was a server for years, excuses are always a waste of time and clearly the management has not relayed this to the staff. Customers don't want to be told a bunch of endless BS by the server...a simple apology would suffice so I can get back to enjoying my meal.

When my meal was brought to the table, the server never returned to make sure everything was okay. THE RULE IS TWO BITES OR TWO MINUTES...WHO IS TRAINING THESE PEOPLE???? I had ordered a gluten free option due to health issues, and it didn't look gluten free when it was brought to the table. So while I waited for the server to return and confirm it was GF, my food (fried calamari) became entirely cold. In order to confirm it was GF and get the check after being there for an hour when the restaurant was at 5-10% capacity, I had to chase the server down across the restaurant. The table next to me had to chase their server down for their check too. Once I found my server, she then tried to show me on their screen that relays orders to the kitchen that she definitely put in gluten free. When I tried to tell her I don’t care if you put it in correctly & I only wanted confirmation 15 minutes ago before my food was cold, she repeated herself and never apologized. All she did was talk talk talk and tell me why it's not her fault....NO ONE CARES...I just wanted warm food and tartar sauce. I actually liked the server, but she was simply not listening to what I was saying and considering the customer’s POV. I didn't even get to eat my food because by the time I confirmed it was gluten free, my party had to leave and I’m not going to eat freezing cold calamari…? Meal=ruined at that point.

In the end, they didn't comp the uneaten meal, or even consider it for that matter. Not to mention, my server was wearing AIR PODS THE WHOLE TIME…didn’t even remove them to address me when I was upset. How rude? I don’t believe this comment will actually do anything to change their performance though....can't believe I spent $30 on a meal just to still be hungry. I still tipped the server well, because graciousness will be returned to those who are gracious themselves.

Overall, I wouldn't waste my money here again, especially since there is a lack of respect for the customers and zero desire from management to...

I'm a local, so I come here on occasion. Ive ALWAYS had a great time/experience. Great service, as well as great food and drinks. But this time... by the end of the night, was a COMPLETE DISASTER, to say the least...

Started out just fine. They had live music, so decided to sit outside at Patio bar and have a few drinks and an Appetizer, then moved to inside bar. Quite a few people inside, mostly vacationers, whom were all ready to drink the night away, and unfortunately, so was the bartender. 😳

After watching her, and almost everyone at the bar, take quite a few shots, she started getting loud, repeatedly cussing at/out another customer, who was as equally intoxicated. After seeing other customers (and other staff members) reactions to what was happening, I decided to say something to the outside bartender as she was leaving.

She went inside and calmly tried to talk to the other bartender, asking her what was going on, told her she was slurring her words, and it was obvious she had been drinking. Of course, its immediately denied she's been drinking, and starts getting loud once again.

Once the other bartender walked away, the managers came out, watched her for a minute, and then walked outside (I assumed to talk with the other bartender about what was happening) but when one of the managers (long dark hair... think her name was Cara or Tara?) walked back inside and handed the (obviously) already intoxicated bartender a bottle to make yet another round of shots for herself, and the bar.. I realized that same "manager" was the same one taking a shot with her earlier, before things got out of hand. It's no wonder the bartender got so intoxicated that she could barely stand up. Not very good "management" if you ask me.

After almost two hours of watching this train wreck happen, the other bartender and the other manager (the blonde.. didn't catch her name) came back out and kicked the drunk one off the bar, and finished out the night. Thank Goodness!!! I really love coming here, its like my home away from home. Just hoping my next visit won't be like...

We came in to celebrate a friends daughters 15th birthday . Our waitress was wonderful. We placed our order for our appetizers and after one complete hour of waiting for them to arrive we asked her the status and she said she was unsure as she asked the manager of the kitchen already and noted to him how long we have been waiting and and he brushed her off. We asked if we could speak to him to follow up. He walks up to our table and his immediate and fist comment to us was " The longer i stand here with you the longer your food will take " We were just asking what the delay was as a large group of ppl who came in and were seated AFTER us already had there appetizers at the table. Due to the initial comment and body language we asked if there was another manager we could speak to in regards to it and he says " No they are at home with there family's " Throughout the brief exchange he continued to make rude comments and ending it w/ throwing his hands in the air and yelling to the waitress to just " comp the whole check " and walked away. The exchange with him was just so rude and negative that spite the offer for a FREE MEAL WE DECIDED TO LEAVE and that speaks volumes on the poor customer service. As a manager you should represent your company in a positive light and try to problem solve . this was a minor situation that could have been fixed with a simple " im going to look into it now ". Im baffled this is the kind of manager that is representing such a well known establishment - with the way his attitude was theres no way no other customer has not had the same interactions. Kitchen manager name was i believe was Yale

I will conclude this with letting you know that other tables heard this exchange and said they would leave too if they were treated this way. So not only was a little girls birthday ruined, Customers treated poorly , Groups of other guests witnessed first hand the customer service offered when a problem presents at no fault...

This restaurant is attached to the Holiday Inn Harborside. We have had wonderful experiences with the staff, prompting a conversation about how great the hospitality in this area (except for a complete witch at Slyce) is! Logan was our server several times and he was friendly and funny. There are a few ladies behind the bar that deserve a raise (as a business owner I hate when people say that on Google - lol - but it’s true). I ran down from our room near closing time on a rainy night and tried to buy a couple fountain diet cokes - not normally a big top generating order for bartenders. Instead of bemoaning and telling me to use the vending machine like a sane person, my bartender served me some fountain Diet Coke with a smile and I appreciate that! I came over from the h2o park to this bar for my drinks because they’re so nice. Our server at breakfast was very nice and I bet they hate the “free breakfast” families from the hotel because I suspect those aren’t big tips in general. He nonetheless treated us like royalty :) The real hero here is the host. I didn’t catch his name but he’s there sun up to sun down and very friendly. A distinguished gentleman with a beard. He even engaged with my 14 yo daughter as we walked by, remembering her from a day prior. He is kind. The food is very good too. The oysters weren’t great, but I may be the only person in the world who doesn’t love Apalachicola oysters, I prefer upper east coast cold water oysters and as such should order grouper and stone crabs when I’m in Florida! The mixed drinks were strong and great. My husband loved the grouper nuggets and my daughter’s firecracker calamari was great. Breakfast was great. We had a buffet. There were plenty of choices: bacon, sausage, game, eggs, pancakes, made to order waffles, muffins and cereal. It was replenished quickly and everything was hot and fresh.

I don’t normally post things like this, but I feel a responsibility to share what happened. I came to this place on July 4th with my family, I bit into a blade (yes, a literal blade) in my food. Luckily when I bit in my teeth touched it first and I thought it was a toothpick, but when I pulled it out it definitely was not. I showed it to the staff right away. How does a 4-5 inch blade end up in a chicken Cesar wrap?!? They apologized, but it didn’t feel genuine. Wanted me to sign an incident report. The chef came out and said it was a peace of the tomato slicer. They brought the bill out to the others at my table, and honestly just wanted us out of there quickly. No real accountability or effort to make it right. AND I left hungry. This wasn’t just bad service — it was a serious safety hazard. The blade itself was rusty and the chef came out to let me know it was a part of the tomato slicer. Kinda scary that’s in their kitchen.

Really good breakfast, service and drinks are excellent. Located inside Holiday Inn lodge. Hotel is older but clean service is great. This place remindes me of an all-inclusive resort, you literally do not have to leave other than for the beach. Discount food package is an option to save money. My family and I have stayed here previously and will continue to return as one of least expensive vacations each year. This is our last vacations before the fall. Water park connected to hotel is $16 per person is for guest only. Perfect day of play for kids and adults. There are two tiki bar and grills with full food service. Highly recommend this place. Very close to beach and one on the best ice cream shops in walking distance. This place gets 5 stars because of the total package. If your looking for glizt this is not it. If your looking for a wonderful family or couples get away this is the place. D.W. Atlanta, Ga 10/1/19
