Ok here's the honest truth as I do know my food ! So if you don't want to hear the truth about this place please keep scrolling.. If you're still reading here we go , The food is in my professional opinion is of less quality and taste then what you can buy and fix for yourself at your own home , there is no real time out into "any" of the meals bottom line seems to be money before quality ! As far as the staff " owners " , they definitely have no clue what customer service means , the two women which are usually up front both with dark hair " I assume Greek women ?" Act as you are really putting them out just by you being there , no smile , no out going personally that you would expect from any place you do business at , meaning they are glad your here and make you want to come back , absolutely none of that here ! I've eaten here multiple times " ONLY BECAUSE ITS VERY CLOSE AND I GUESS AT THE TIME TASTE DIDN'T MATTER THAT MUCH AT THE TIME ..But I honestly fail to understand the 5 stars this place is getting ? It honestly has not earned them , this is a 1 star restaurant at best , just being honest.. I'm not a picky eater but can be , but the food quality is of frozen or canned it seems , salt and pepper will be required if taste is needed for your food here .. Over priced for no more quality that you get , it's your hard earned money people make " THEM " earn it ! As stated this is a unbiased review and is an honest one ! I know good food and if you truly are looking for that honestly it will not be found here .. And if you expect good customer service if they mess up with a smile ? Well don't hold your breath.. Just an honest no hold bar review of this restaurant which I've given...
Read moreSo... I tried this spot and though it may have ended a little differently than I'd like... let's run down the positive aspects of this eatery. I'll later give the small mishap...
1- Service was wonderful. My waitress and the host were very respectful and my waitress checked in often.
2- I ordered the Farmers Omelet, Grits, Hash browns, and 2 Biscuits. YES I WAS HUNGRY!!! lol. All of which were tasty and nothing overcooked. The biscuits were homestyle and made me feel like I was eating something my grandma would make.
3- parking was fine and the atmosphere was cozy!!!!
My only complaint is that my farmer's omelet had extra seasoning- a long piece of black hair wrapped neatly in the center. (YES I had eaten half before it showed itself. cue stomach curdling) My lovely waitress did offer to have it remade but my body had already shut down I knew I was going to be sick. Thankfully the sweet host did accommodate my troubles and removed the omelet.
I later left and well you probably guessed it... returned the food to earth. Lol. sorry
Needless to say despite the little mishap of a dancing hair trying to share breakfast with me... I will one day return!!!!
The food was GOOD. The space was GREAT. Things like this happen... They handled it professionally. I respect them for it.
To my waitress- THANK YOU for being a sweet soul and keeping a smile.
To the Host- thank you for being understanding!
Johnny K's is a good spot for breakfast... reminds me of the small diners back home in NY....
Read moreWhere to start. I saw reviews and they were great. This place claims to be the best breakfast place in the area.
If that's the case, then there's no hope. The pancakes are flat, heavy, and taste awful. The hashbrowns are thick cut, and they serve them way undercooked. The bacon was extremely thin and undercooked. The eggs, nothing to brag about.
For almost 40 bucks we should have just went and spent money at cracker barrel, east 74, metro diner, mikis, stacks, or pretty much anywhere but Johnny K's.
The waitress was semi-artentive, but seemed annoyed that we weren't in and out extremely quickly (we weren't in there an unreasonable amount of time).
The center it's in itself is run down. That should have been my first clue. But with all of the positive reviews, one of my sons wanted to give them a try. We definitely won't be going back. It's really not worth it. Save the money and go somewhere else or just cook at home because unless you're an awful cook, you could make a more satisfying and...
