We ordered an 8 piece mild tender meal. We were told they didn’t have chicken and the wait would be 15 minutes and that they were also waiting on another 8-piece meal and a 16-piece meal. We opted to wait. After 15 minutes, my husband went in to grab a drink and finish waiting for our food. He was told the chicken was ready but now they were waiting on biscuits. After another 10 minutes, he finally walked out with our food. We pulled out onto 74 to head home and I went to pull a tender out for my 2-year old for it to cool when I realized they gave us the wrong meal.
We returned back to the store to get the correct order and were told it would be 5 minutes. They somehow still had to drop more chicken. We were asked if we’d rather have spicy tenders this time and that they don’t usually sell 8 pieces tenders (usually 12), so they assumed it was bone-in. They never gave us a receipt, so kind of hard to dispute that we just ordered tenders… As we continued to wait, someone came to order and they were told that they were out of fries. It took 15 minutes from the time my husband walked in until we got our corrected order. Two cars were in the drive-thru when we came back and both had to pull up to wait for their food. I will say they gave us 12 tenders, which we appreciate, but not sure it makes up for waiting an hour for them. 😅
Also, plot twist, the cook had an entire tray of chicken prepped and ready to go the entire time. Someone just didn’t look.
I get having to wait on food occasionally, and we’re obviously understanding of that given we opted to wait 15 minutes. But Popeye’s whole gig is literally chicken and biscuits. It’s a Sunday afternoon and we ordered around 3:45. It’s hard not to find this whole experience just wild, ridiculous, and completely avoidable.
This isn’t the first (or second, or third…) time we’ve waited ages for food at this Popeye’s location. So if you plan to come here, don’t make plans for afterward…
I was going to give this a one-star review, but I couldn’t stop laughing when reading the sheer, unadulterated chaos that is this review, so I upped it...
Read moreI walked in nervous, as this had been the first time in 10+ years I’d been to a Popeyes. The buzz surrounding the chicken sandwich, deafening on the internet. When I’m at home, I don’t have a Popeyes around for 30 miles or more! When I knew there was a Popeyes on the way home from Thanksgiving, I knew this rendezvous was meant to be... A bit intimidated by the resounding buzz friends that had previously experienced the new culinary adventure that is the Popeyes chicken sandwich, I stepped up to the counter. I asked if it would be a faux pas if I was to ask for a fresher than fresh version of this enigma. I wanted to experience everything this sandwich had to offer. The manager Alvin assured me that I was in good hands, and asked, ‘Classic or Spicy’. I knew I was in good hands when I said spicy, and Alvin gave me the ‘oh yeah, bro. You picked the right one’ look. As I received my food, I was amazed at the weight of the tray. I was ready to take this beast on. I sat at the very clean table, greatly anticipating my first bites. I unwrapped the sleeve, and saw where all the weight had come from. This was what seemed like a whole chicken breast, fried to crispy perfection, with beautiful spicy sauce, and hints of pickles seen lying in wait, resting between a glistening brioche bun. The smells were heavenly, and I knew I had to dig in. First bite: bliss. Second bite: confirmation of bliss. This sandwich didn’t stand a chance. I had to slow myself down, as to remember that I had these perfectly seasoned fries to take care of as well. Fam, this Popeyes, and Alvin the manager and his crew have helped me see the light! Big shout out to Alvin for running a tight shift, keeping the food fresher than fresh, and making me feel more welcome in a food establishment then I ever had felt before. I can only hope that he gets some recognition from the company, and not just...
Read moreThe worst experience ever at this Popeyes. My son and I pull up for early dinner via the drive through. I ask for a number 11 and a 2 pc Dark Meat meal.
After arriving at the window the Young Lady repeats the order as an 11 and 2 pc I said, "Yes a 2pc Dark Meat". Her response to me was, " I don't repeat back the the entire order", as she is taking my card. I look at my son and say wow that was nasty. So she hands me my card, I say, " I repeated myself because there were times that I came here and the order was wrong so I wanted to make sure it was correct." She then states, I am not about argue with you and walks off. I then grab my 2 drinks put them on the window seal and ask for my money back. I will not support a place with such a NASTY individual as an employee.
She then walks to the back yelling and saying to the manager that she is not going to put up with me and for him to come get me. All because I repeated my order. Then the person calling himself the general manager tried to ignore the situation and I said, "you all are just nasty give me my money please.' He then says,"Are you talking to me, I am not in this, I did not hear you, walks to the window and attempts to hand me the bag. I said, " I want my money!"
He states that he is general manager, I say to him, " she should be fired for her tone to me and attitude all because I repeated my order to her?"
People have lost their MINDS. Attempting to make sure my order was correct because your establishment does not, gives your employees that right to speak to a customer that way. If it were one of my employees they would have been...
