This restaurant in my opinion has a lot potential by hiring and training the right staff. However, the service and experience was terrible this time. and last time which was my first experience, I went and they were out of thier famous Chilli and they served extremely charred wings. This time they had just opened and we were the first there and they did have the chilli to try....as I waited on the food which included chicken wings with barbeque sauce and the other one with a double bourbon sauce, I decided to order a drink. The drink tasted like syrup and thick robatussin. Just way too much juice or simple syrup. To the point, it was absolutely undrinkable. our wings came to go and to my disappointment I didn't have the sauces I ordered and 3 small chillis instead of 2 individual large chillies. are we supposed to share the 3rd one or something in lieu of our individual large portions? so yet whatever they chose to give me in a bag and they gave me 3 sauces though the order comes with 2 sauces each order and the Chilli was cold. the other double shots that my guest and I ordered to replace the thick jelly seemingly drink she gave initially seemed very short especially after that nasty bartending she did for a signature cocktail at first ..and the dessert pizza was gross in my opinion for $13. I also inquired about specials for the day which should've been presented to me, as a guest upon arrival. She acted too busy. When I asked questions about the growlers or thier line of liquors, it was like pulling teeth to get a price. nobody was knowledgeable about thier own menu where they work pr helpful to newbies trying to support the place? The bartender was serving dining tables too and was not very helpful to the bar although we were there first before the other customers came, whom seemed to get more service than the front area that houses what the establishment is founded on; local made liquor. We spent a significant amount of money,( over $100 for lunch 2 people) to get a terrible experience and terriblly prepared food🤔. I can't afford to go back unfortunately its a waste of...
Read moreWent to Big Woods on a Tuesday afternoon at noon. Was seated very quickly and was told that she was running around crazy because they were short staffed. Our drinks came in a timely manner and we ordered in a fairly timely manner. That is when normal dining experience ended. It took over an hour for our order, in which we watched 2 other tables up and leave. The poor young waitresses that brought our food was in tears because she said the only other waitress, the one that actually waited on us, had walked out and left crying. I felt so sorry for this young lady as she was trying to hold it together, but was very frustrated, and noone should have to feel like this at work. We ate what was delivered, which was not correct, or didnt come out with everything we ordered. When we finally asked for the check the same girl proceeded to tell us she so wanted to just walk out and leave as the place was a wreck as they had 2 waitresses and only 2 people in the back, 1 I assume was a manager, though we never saw him/her. Not to mention noone tending the bar, you are a bar/restaurant at a shopping center and next to major hotels. Worst dining experience we have ever had. Though I note, the one young lady, I wish I got her name, tall, blond brown hair, was wonderful trying to hold things together while her other workers up and quit. She deserves a raise if she doesn't rightfully find a better run place to work. I caution eating here until they figure their...
Read moreIt’s so exciting to see a local eatery amid the sea of chain restaurants in the area! While the focus here is clearly on tasty hand-tossed pizzas and toasty paninis, you’ll still find hints of Big Woods’ flavorful barbecue sprinkled throughout the menu. The full list of Hard Truth spirits and Quaff On beers are also available to enjoy while you eat or to carry out.
Though this location is still new, it seems to be popular, and with the capacity limits due to COVID, we had to wait around 40 minutes for a table. But after that, the service was prompt and we had drinks, appetizer and meal out pretty quickly.
The breadsticks were carbo-perfection — soft-baked, not overly chewy and moist throughout! Brushed with butter and sprinkled with parmesan, they were tasty on their own but the garlic butter dipping sauce made them extra delicious. For our main course, the Gatherer was generously topped with fresh veggies and loads of cheese. The caramelized onions added a unique twist to this standard vegetarian pizza. We also added grilled chicken.
I’ve been interested to try the new peanut butter whiskey, and the peanut butter cup cocktail was a perfect introduction — a dessert in a glass and a perfect way to round...
