Had my sons birthday 10 AM on a Saturday morning. I definitely have to say that Chuck E Cheese has moved in a lazier direction that does not highlight hospitality (referring or purchasing bday packages, available birthday upgrades to purchase, no birthday host, serve your own pizza, cleaning up after the whole birthday due to no host) I will say that Alleah had made up for the direction of the company that they are going. I can't thank her enough as I was taken back and in a rush of making everything right for our birthday party of 13 plus adults. Alleah, instead of a "sorry about your luck", she had a GREATTTT hospitality to her and had a style of " how can I help meet your needs and offer you a good substitution to purchase. Alleah was so great that I decided to take my kids back to Chuck E Cheese a Saturday night (I know big mistake) upon arrival I was told they are "done taking orders for food" i had to have her elaborate more and finally got that they will start taking orders in 30 minutes due to being backed up in the kitchen (understandable but probably next time finish the sentence as I almost walked out the door because this would be my children's dinner and play). The menu offered 10% off play with purchase of value meal and asked if i could still get the discount they offered since they are having me order seperate (no big deal but would have missed out on deal if didn't ask as opposed to then offering first hospitality for then inconvenience) I first ordered a salad and noticed that there was not much salad left as I myself came for the salad bar. When the cashier asked someone to refill on the salad, she sarcastically chuckled and said there was salad. Noticed the salad didn't have a dressing that I loved the day I came for my sons bday and I think by this point I just wanted a refund (not upset, maybe a little taken back) but a Brandon was able to be extremely helpful and although not under his control, his hospitality was great and appoligized for the inconvenience and thanked me for the business... well done...
Read moreDefinitely not what it used to be. It's extremely expensive now. The pizza was done, but the cheese bread was not. It tasted like half cooked dough. The entire staff is extremely rude - both at the cash register and the prize counter, also the food window. I got ignored every time I went to the front counter or food window, then when we went to cash in our tickets/pick a prize.. we waited patiently behind the family in front of us. When it was our turn, a bunch of kids threw their cards at the guy running the counter and instead of finishing our transaction, he helped them too then went on to helping them and ignored us. Then, we waited patiently for them to get done and another family came up, he ignored us AGAIN and bypassed us to help the other couple. I finally said "screw it.. if people are gonna keep cutting, we'll spend our money elsewhere" and we went over to another store and got the kids their prize. Sure, it's half my responsibility to say something but the guy at the counter should have also told them he was helping us and we were next in line. Also, I asked if we could use 1 card per family for the games (cause did I mention those prices are STEEEEEP) and she said yes. That was false. You could not. Every time I scanned it for my son and walked to another game for my daughter, it would tell me it was too soon to scan again (even though it had been a good 15-30 seconds) then of course having to go back to my son after swiping for my daughter and had the same issue. We paid for 90 minutes and wasted half of it due to waiting to be able to scan it again, so halfway through I just bought another card for my daughter - a purchase I wasn't planning on making. They also got rid of the play area and the live animals - which was a super bummer. But anyway, this is definitely not a place I'd come back to very often. Super disappointing for a place we used to love very much. (And before you comment about leaving a review on some website - I already did that with the...
Read moreThis review is for the CEC at Castleton. We went here for a birthday party the weekend before last, and although the place wasn't extremely busy at the time, we waited in line to order food for 20 minutes. There were seriously only 4 or 5 people in front of us. The number of people behind us started to increase, as well, and no additional employees were sent to the counter to operate another register. When we finally got to the register, the girl behind the counter literally stood there and looked at us until we figured out she was ready to take our order. There was no "how may I help you" or any type of acknowledgment. In most cases I don't care about the attitude of a business's employees, but after waiting in line for 20 minutes just to order a salad and a water I was over it.
One other minor issue I noticed was when two of the kids got into that machine that blows the tickets into the air around them so they can catch as many as they can. I saw the kids get in, and I immediately wondered why they didn't have any goggles or anything on to protect their eyes. The goggles were right next to the machine on a ledge that was easily accessible, but they weren't given to the kids. Sure enough, the machine turns on and neither kid can keep their eyes open to see what they're trying to catch. One is shielding his face while standing there and the other is blindly grabbing at the air. It did appear that both of them enjoyed their time in the machine, but I'm wondering what the point of having goggles is if you won't let the kids use them.
The main thing is that the kids had fun. I doubt that any of them even noticed anything negative about the experience, which is great. However, the parents/guardians do have other choices of establishments to take their kids to, so tightening up on some of these basic areas would go a long way, in my opinion. I understand that this is a place for kids to have fun (which they did), but that doesn't mean the customer service has to go...
