Subject: Formal Complaint Regarding Misleading Advertisement and In-Store Experience
I am writing to formally lodge a complaint regarding a highly disappointing and frustrating experience I had at your 82nd Street store in Indianapolis, Indiana, on April 18, 2025, between 12:00 PM and 2:30 PM.
I received a promotional text from K&G Men’s Store advertising a “Buy One, Get Two Free” deal on designer men’s suits. Upon arriving at the store, I asked a store associate to direct me to the designer suits that were part of this offer. He confidently led me to a specific section and confirmed those suits qualified for the promotion. I then spent over an hour selecting three suits and went through the alteration process, which was especially unpleasant due to the store being hot and muggy—I was sweating profusely during the fitting session.
After waiting over 30 minutes in line at the register, I was informed by the store manager that only one of the three suits I selected qualified for the promotion. I explained that I had been directed to those suits by a store associate. The manager demanded I identify the associate, and when I did, the associate admitted he had directed me to the section under the impression the promotion applied. Even with this admission, the manager still refused to honor the discount.
This entire process was extremely frustrating and a complete waste of time, considering I had already committed two and a half hours to shopping, fitting, and waiting in line. I also attempted to contact the customer relations number while still in the store but remained on hold for over 30 minutes with no response.
This is not the first time I have experienced what I believe is a pattern of misleading promotions at K&G. Approximately six months ago, my wife and I encountered a similar situation where a “Buy One, Get One Free” sign was posted incorrectly on dresses. Even though the store manager acknowledged the signage was an error, the offer was still not honored.
Given these repeated issues, I believe this practice constitutes a deceptive and frustrating customer experience. I have retained the original promotional text message, which does not include disclaimers or specify exclusions about which designer suits qualify for the offer.
This was a very frustrating experience, and I am looking forward to a resolution with the management and...
Read moreAbsolute worst customer experience I have ever had! I don't normally shop here on a regular basis and after today I won’t step foot back into this store or spend another dime here. I went to do a quick exchange on unopened hosiery for my future mother in law. After the original purchase when we got home and checked the weight on the back we realized it was the wrong size. Again this package was not opened. The lady greeted me when I walked in the door and I let her know I just needed to do an exchange because it’s the wrong size. She told me she would not do the return because it was hosiery. I let her know it was unopened and she could clearly see the seal had not been broken but she refused again. She told me that they tell every customer when they make those purchases yet both my fiancé and I were not told this at the time of purchase. I’m assuming it was the manager that came out of the office and said to do it the exchange as a one time courtesy since they were unopened. I swapped out for the size I needed but noticed they had multiple packs of hosiery opened and hanging out on the racks as well. I went back up to the counter and laid down the correct size. I thanked the lady for doing it as a courtesy since it was for my wedding this weekend and then another employee chimed in saying well we aren’t doing it again for you to which I then responded that’s fine I won’t be coming back.
Just unnecessarily rude and extra after I had thanked them for doing an exchange on an unopened product. Receipt clearly says they don’t do returns or exchanges on opened or worn products but nothing specific about hosiery.
K&G your employees need some training in professional customer service because...
Read moreI went to the store to return two suits that was purchased for my son for an event that they never worn. upon arrival and entering the store. I was greeted by I suppose a security officer who directed me to the to the counter, for my returns. I did provided the cashier both of my suits along with the receipts and my ID. The cashiers stated I’m not giving this much cash out with an attitude, also, she threw the suits down on the counter, as if she did not care never saying anything at the time just a very negative attitude. the manager on duty in which I cannot pronounce her name because of her her hand written signature also was not pleasant. this was not a good experience in customer service at all . after I walked out of the store I said they will never get any money from me again. The issue I had with this whole experience is that not only did this young lady gave me a -1% percent experience in bad customer service. but she was not corrected, or redirected, in her behavior with me being a customer, from her manager. This event took place 5/7/2024 at the K&G fashion superstore located at 4510 E. 82nd St., Indianapolis, IN 46250. I understand we y’all have our days, but nobody should have to go threw this experience, especially when working so hard and spending your money as a consumer. They have to remember there will be no businesses without us, providing the funds to keep them open and when I see stuff like this. It makes me never want to do business again I hope and pray that no one else Has to go to this experience at this location....
