Came in for lunch after hearing good things about it from regulars at my partner’s work and it lived up to every word of the hype! Any assumptions we may have made from the outside were immediately washed away as we were greeted by elegant decor and ambient lighting. The man working greeted us warmly and promptly and let us pick where to sit, highly recommend the cozy benches along the wall with the super comfy cushions. Our server was well informed on all aspects of the menu and helped us decide on which flavor of Rupee beer to order, including the mango wheat which is not listed but he made sure we knew it was an option. It went perfectly with the chicken tikka masala but the star of the show was the lamb coconut curry. I will say, I am a bit sensitive to spice so we went with medium that I found to be a bit mild so don’t be afraid to up your spice level. We also started with the paneer pakora which is the only way I want to enjoy fried cheese after today. The sauces they served with it paired perfectly and the green (mint chutney?) added the perfect fresh herb flavor to every bite. For two adults ordering 2 beers, an appetizer, and two entrees we only spent $58. An amazing deal you can’t find most places these days! Definitely my new go to spot for Indian food in the neighborhood. I am not a smart man but I do know what good food is.

We finally had the opportunity to try out G1, and we were thoroughly impressed! As soon as we entered, we were greeted with a visually appealing ambiance and friendly service. The food was exceptional and incredibly fast. We began our meal with a massive fried cauliflower dish and samosas. Unfortunately, I didn’t capture pictures of all of the food, but everything was simply amazing. We also indulged in butter chicken, chicken biryani, garlic naan, and chicken and vegetable korma. Each dish was hot, flavorful, and generously portioned. We are thrilled to have G1 in our neighborhood and can’t wait to return. If you’re a fan of Indian cuisine, this place is a must-visit!

My family ate at G-1 for the first time tonight and it is our new favorite Indian restaurant in the city. The yellow dal taka was perfect! And the biryani a hit. Our waiter suggested the gobhi manchurian (fried cauliflower), and even the pickiest of kids would devour this. Bonus, they had some unique naan options that I have not seen in other restaurants and our bill was under $60 even with having enough leftover for another dinner! We are sure to be back.

I was craving curry tonight so I decided to give G1 a try. It didn’t disappoint. I had the lamb coconut curry which came with rice with caraway seeds in it. The lamb was very nice and tender without being overly cooked. I chose medium heat and it was just right for me. Just hot enough to get a little heat but nicely balanced without overpowering the warm curry spices. The rice was nicely done and a great vessel to soak up the curry. I also had the plain naan bread which was very good. Just slightly chewy with a nice char. Great for picking up that tender lamb. I also had a mango lassi which was a nice creamy treat. Just sweet enough to be a nice treat without being cloyingly sweet and very rich and creamy. The gentleman who waited on me was a great server. He was warm, friendly and attentive to my needs. Overall a great dinner that I’ll have to...

Clean, comfortable and welcoming atmosphere. Talwinder made sure we were taken care of; when we informed him my husband is Celiac and needs gluten free food, Talwinder immediately brought out some fresh lentil flour papadum. The menu is extensive. We shared the Shahi Paneer, Vegetable Korma, Riatha and rice (we were offered more rice if we wanted). Excellent flavors and medium was just the right amount of heat for us. It was more than enough for two people and for a very reasonable price. In the future I'll order more entrees so I can sample more of their delicious food AND have enough to take home for another meal. Highly recommend and easy to find on College Ave just south of...
