This is where my husband and I go for lunch and morning coffee/snack everyday before work (it’s extremely close).
The drive thru is always super fast in the mornings (I always do mobile order but drive thru is faster than curbside in the AM) which is great because we are usually running late to work...
Lunch (which for us is about 4:15pm) is generally fast also which is cool since it’s rush hour everywhere. We go inside for lunch and since this location has recently-ish went full electronic kiosk we order from that, take our numbers, and our food is brought fairly quickly. Our orders are almost always correct, and when something is wrong we always let the employees know and get it fixed without any issues or resistance. I’m extremely picky and not too flexible (which aren’t great qualities I know) so it’s nice to eat at a McDonald’s that doesn’t make you want to pull your hair out because you asked for something more complicated than a cheeseburger.
The restaurant itself is nice and clean; the bathroom generally has something or other wrong but it’s a busy location and an employee can’t be in the bathroom every ten minutes to make sure everyone figures out how to flush the toilet. Cleanliness-wise it’s definitely kept up pretty well.
I see complaints about the e-kiosks and don’t understand them. All McDonalds locations are transitioning to them and our area/state has actually been pretty slow to do so. The employees are easily accessible if you are confused or don’t know how to use the kiosk properly (sometimes they will even ask you if you need help) and there are 3-5 of them (I forget exactly) so there’s raaaarely ever a line to order. I personally am not very social and have an hour to get in, eat, and get back to work so I love not having to chit chat and wait in line!
The employees themselves are very friendly; I haven’t yet met one that I just didn’t like or that I thought was rude. I appreciate that they are so polite and helpful, especially since our lunch hour is sacred to us LOL.
I really should probably eat somewhere else because I definitely don’t need all the calories and I don’t like really any of their healthier options, but oh...
Read moreIt's McDonald's, period. Just like every other one in the U.S. Food is so-so, but it's American food and you already know what you want the second it hits your mind. It's marginally edible fast food, but let's just admit that there is something you would eat there. Or, you're road tripping and the turtle is peaking and you're thinking "I really don't want to drop a deuce at some nasty rest stop." You then feel obligated to make a conciliatory purchase because you utterly desecrated their crapper.
Fun facts for travellers to east Asia. In Japan everything is what you think it is, but micro-sized. At Micky-Ds, the girls behind the counter won't understand a word of English, even in greater Tokyo. It's best to point at the picture and order 2 or 3 of what you want. Like everything else in Japan all servings are kid sizes and their drinks are about 6-7 oz. Never go to a restaurant like Italian or Mexican there because their food sucks. About the only thing the Japanese do right are sushi bars and Mongolian bbq all you can eat meat. Stay out of the Subways unless you are well versed in 3 dimensional chess or have a local guide.
Southwest China, including HK and Shenzhen. Most of the stuff is just like home. Perfect Chinese knock offs where you can get McMuffins all day long, and it has been this way for over 25 years. Think about that for a second. It took the American execs. over 20 freaking years how figure this out!?!! This, Wendy's and KFC (funky but edible) are the refuges of those who can't stomach the mysterious monkey meat, chicken feet, protein of any stinky sea creature, or 100 day old rotten, stinking, putrid...
Read moreI had to pull up to the third window to wait for my breakfast order, which I didn't mind at all. However, when, what appeared to be a manager (short Hispanic female) handed me my food through the window and I asked if I could get some strawberry jam for my bagel, the evil, searing, glare that she gave me left me astounded! She didn't say anything, she just paused and stared at me with this evil stare for what seems like several minutes, even though I'm sure it was shorter. I don't know if she misunderstood what I said or what, but, I was SO uncomfortable with her reaction, that I just pulled away and ate my bagel plain. The crazy thing is drive through guy who took my order was nice and pleasant, the drive-thru cashier who accepted my payment was nice enough and told me to have a good day and even ask me if I wanted my receipt. Again, she was pleasant enough. Then the lady who handed me my food was pleasant enough as well. The manager that handed me my food seemed pleasant at first... Until I said "may I bother you for some strawberry jam, please?" That's when I got the death stare. lol every time, without fail, there is something unpleasant about my visit at this location. This is why I don't go to that location very often at all. This experience was so crazy and so baffling. So much that it's kind of like the straw that broke the camel's back. I will NOT be returning to that location ever again. I have no problem driving the extra mile or what have you to get to Chick-fil-A, where the employees are professional, if...
