If I could give negative stars I would. First it took 15 minutes for anyone to take our order (there was only 6 people in the restaurant). After our order was taken we never received our drinks. After another 10 minutes the waiter tried to take our order again. I explained we had already ordered and asked for our drinks. I had to ask one more time for our drinks to finally receive them. The waiter/cashier continually ran his fingers through his greasy hair and proceeded to touch the rim of our glasses and top of the plates with his hands. He did not bring our correct order out. Then he shorted my wife her fries. In the meantime numerous customers came and left after not receiving any service. When he did bring her fries out he did not know which table they were for. He walked around to 2 other tables and eventually just sat them down at a random table. I explained what was going on to the manager, he apologized, but did nothing. When we went to pay, he attempted to charge us almost double what our bill should have been. It seemed to me that the gentleman in question here was on drugs. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. Don't...
Read moreThe spicy gyros are the best gyros I've ever had, normal gyros were good but spicy was spectacular. The thin sliced meat and spices with the cucumber sauce is simpler than others I've had but it proves simple is sometimes better. It's served inside the pita bread which I prefer.
The lamb kabob was good as well. Quite a bit of rice with chunks of meat and different vegetables. I personally would prefer more meat and vegetables but it definitely isn't needed. With the rice it filled me up.
My girlfriend usually gets the chicken shawarma which she has let me try. Smaller chunks of marinated chicken and she usually gets the cucumber sauce. I have gotten the beef shawarma which was on equal ground as the chicken, both were good.
I've also gotten a few different appetizers and sides. The hummus and saganaki being my favorite appetizers, the Greek fries are good for a side.
Lastly, I've tried the baklava which was an excellent way to end the meal. I'm not a huge fan of cinnamon and this was perfect for me. Not too much, just enough.
I love the food here and hope to continue eating here well...
Read morethis restaurant has history in Broad Ripple. once upon a time, Sam owned a grocery store and served his food from a little corner inside. i think he has been in the current location for quite a number of years.
my wife and i are both fans of their falafell. i think it is probably the best in Indy, but i am probably a little biased since i have known Sam for so long. there are some poor reviews for this restaurant, and i feel sorry that someone had a bad experience there. we have had nothing but good experiences there.
i think that the service is pretty good, and the value is there for what you get. the food is very tasty, and not dumbed down for the lay person...i guess authentic would be a way to describe it. it is within walking distance of a lot of businesses and homes, and i would venture to say that those in the neighborhood really enjoy the good food that is competitively priced.
their vegetarian selected is somewhat limited, but i always find what i want to eat there. i suggest you give it a try and make a decision...
