MAJOR SERVICE ISSUE MINOR FOOD ISSUE: first they said my niece couldn’t eat with her friends at her friend’s birthday dinner, something about additional stress on the waiter. We had pre-ordered the food because she was late. So she would have been the third person, it was one additional person (my niece) that she would be serving. I’m not included, because I wasn’t even in there when they told her no. They did change their mind and let my neice eat with her friends and when they bring out her food, my side of broccoli is not in the bag but mixed in with my niece’s Mr. Captain, I said “they mixed in my order with her’s, I’m about to go I just came to drop her off, can yall give me a side of broccoli so I can go? The waiter stated that they would not replace the food. Im instantly irritated and I decided not to bicker with her and just ask the manager to help, surely she will help? She comes out and says it’s in the policy for them to not give me my broccoli that I, ME, MYSELF, paid for that’s in the bag mixed in with my nieces food, my niece is eating at this point with her friends, because we didn’t think they would want it back, or go through the bag and pick every single piece of broccoli out, surely they won’t mind, it’s a side of broccoli, and it was their mistake right? Wrong. She said they could take the food back and take the Broccoli out, and I agreed initially, then I thought about how petty and inconsiderate she was being because my niece was already eating her food with her friends at her friend birthday dinner, we ordered before hand so they could eat together. That’s the whole point of us ordering ahead. So I ask her, “are you really about to take her food that she is eating in order to give me a side of broccoli” you guys… it’s a SIDE OF BROCCOLI and YALL mistake, “why”would you do all this? She stated it’s “in the policy”. Then when I got my broccoli they brought it out as if I was eating in. I told them several times I was leaving I was not going to be there with them. So it should’ve been packed to-go after. I waited 23 mins in ADDITION to ordering ahead on the phone 15 minutes before hand. The manager and worker DID maintain a professional tone throughout my irritation. However I did not appreciate the inconsiderate service, for a side? That y’all screwed up? “Some restaurants don’t work like that” well Juicy Seafood get it together because every restaurant I’ve been to from 0 to even 5 stars will replace food they made a mistake on. A real 5 star restaurant in my book is one with good customer service, I considerED this the best Juicy Seafood in Indianapolis. and Foodwise they are except today, when I did get the broccoli, they seriously OVERCOOKED my broccoli. As long as I’ve gone there to eat, I’ve NEVER had a food issue. Never… til I had a issue that needed to be resolved. I did NOT ask for double cooked/steamed for my broccoli. Thank you for wasting my time and money, Thank you. I almost didn’t write the review, because queens help each other, not put down, but everyone agrees that y’all let me down today and everyone’s response was “write a review”, “write one on the BBB”. I won’t do the BBB review, and this review is subject to change with improvements, because I know it effects ratings. I’ve never had any concerns...
Read moreThey were definitely not ready to open... I would wait before going so they can work out their kinks. Half our food/order did not come out. Waitress discouraged us from requesting them or else ignored the fact that our appetizers never came. Made me wonder if she ever put them in, stated the kitchen was just too backed up. We spent 3 hours in the restaurant with a toddler only for our whole party to leave still hungry and not satisfied. Employees were in the bathroom complaining the managers definitely needed more realistic expectations. Bar was not open yet which would have helped with the ridiculous wait time on everything. We waited at least 25mins to get our sodas after we ordered them. Every one was running around trying to do their jobs but in the end it was a disappointment. The sauce was decent but the blue crab was just not good. Tasted dead/old. Snow crabs were okay. We messaged their page to make sure crawfish and oysters were live/fresh and they said yes. We got there and waitress said crawfish were frozen. This pregnant lady was craving steamed oysters since I can't have them raw. Well we ordered 2 orders and after asking 3x and getting told they were coming.... they never came. Then waitress proceeded to act like she was doing us a favor by taking them off the bill after dinner when we never even got them. My whole order was wrong. Wrong sauce wrong type of shrimp, corn was to come on side so my son can eat them and it not be so saucy or any spice. Well corn was in bag, my husband's bag was missing corn and potatoes. Extra spicy sauce was not even close to spicy. One person in our party never got their food... At all...in THREE HOURS WE WERE THERE. Someone else did not get their accompaniments, one person did not get their appetizers. One person ordered cajun fries. Waitress came by with an order of random fries that were cold and definitely not cajun but when we told her she said yes they are cajun...um no they were not....no flavor. Pretty sure domeone had sent them back and they happen to just be sittjng there. We never got a refill on drinks til we were leaving. That in itself was a nightmare. The line for customer complaints was about 10people deep all night. We were just trying to get bill fixed never mind the complaints we really wanted to voice. So disappointing as we were all very excited about this place opening and wanted so much to like it as it is very close and perfect location. We can only hope they will improve. As for prices there are no real price breaks if you get 1/2 lb or 1lb of something and if you get the special combo u save like 50cents so not really worth it. The upgrade for sausage presents you with very paper thin slices of sausage almost like pepperoni slices. Shrimp was only ok compared to other seafood in a bag locations around town. Wish we could have tried all the other stuff that was supposed to come to the table that never made it. Unfortunately with this experience and all the disappointed people we went with had to experience we will hope they improve and hopefully try again months from now as they will probably need at least that time to get their...
Read moreThe service was there was the worst. Before going there for my mother's birthday on March 26th. It was difficult to make a reservation. I would the phone line and would never get through. So, I went up to the restaurant the day before. Well, there were people inside waiting and I had to stand outside. So, the host of the restaurant was so unprofessional. When I was called the restaurant, I watched her hang up the phone (it was at night mind you). So finally, I had enough and was very upset. So, the host explained that she was busy and could not make it to the phone. One of the customers busted the host and she was not. I asked if I could make two reservations because on their website it states that there could not be any more than 6 people within the party due to COVID-19. The host stated it I could have more than 6 people at a party. Well, the next day, we get there and we were told we had to wait outside in the cold mind you because our table was not ready. Well, another individual within a party asked if they could go to the restroom and they said yes but their family bum-rushed inside. My party became upset and aggregated. Once we got to our table, the manager came and was explaining to us that the host forgot to explain when I made the reservation there could have been a possible wait due to cleaning the table off and getting everything ready. My mother wanted to keep the peace but my sister and I were not having it. The service there is horrible. It took forever for us to get our appetizers, drinks, and entrees. Just like my sister said, the waiter knew she was getting the 18% gratuity from our party. For $111.21, it was not worth it. The food was not good at all. It was too greasy and the favoring was not great. My sister makes a better seafood boil than this place. Also, it my mother's birthday and she did not get the whole birthday singing and cake the restaurant offered. Instead, she received a $15 gift card. I am writing this review because I believe there should be an undercover boss to experience what we experience as customers. Secondly, I think the restaurant should implement online reservations and orders if it becomes overwhelming to answer calls for both ordering and reservations. Overall, an undercover boss needs to come to the Juicy Seafood Castleton and take from me go to Red Lobster because you will probably get better service, appetizers, and better seafood for half the price. I will never go back to the Castleton location or any other...
