My friend and I were at OrthoIndy across the street from the restaurant with an MRI done at 12:00 and had to return at 2:00 for the MRI results from the doctor. So, we wanted to grab lunch at a place close to the Dr office so, we could have time to eat and get back to the office by 2:00 appointment. So, we had never visited this restaurant before and definitely NEVER will again! She ordered a Grilled cheese sandwich and I ordered a Club sandwich. My friend said that the grilled cheese was dry and very unflavored and the French fries were bland! And I picked up my sandwich off my plate and noticed a black hair embedded in the plate and so, therefore neither of us ate our meals. My friend notified the waitress of the food being unflavorful and disappointed with it and the waitress said "I have to take it up with the owner and see what he wants to do about it." So, then the owner approached and sat down and very aggressively said "So, I don't understand what about a grilled cheese sandwich don't you like!" My friend stated the sandwich was dry and didn't have any flavor. The owner said "What can you do to a grilled cheese sandwich?" My friend said"Yeah.. What can you do to a grilled cheese sandwich?. And stated she wasn't going to pay for her meal. And the owner said"I find your complaint inconsistent with all the other customers." My friend then said "Today your cook made a bad sandwich and I'm not paying for it and obviously I didn't eat it because I left it on my plate." Then I told the owner " There was a hair embedded in the plate and I wasn't going to eat my food either. And at this point the owner up and was walking away and he said "The way to handle this is for you to never come back here again!" And we said "We hadn't planned on returning here again EVER!" And the waitress then got defensive and said "You never told me there was hair in your food!" I said "No. I just noticed it when I was finishing up eating as my friend was waiting on the manager to see her about her food complaint and when I noticed I immediately pointed it out to my friend and the owner!" I then received a bill for our sodas and we paid the bill and was walking out and we encountered a very nice and pleasant church going waitress and she said "Have a blessed day!" And we said "That was the nicest thing anyone has said to us here today and we appreciate her saying that to us!" She said " I'm sorry I hope you come back again and give us another chance." We said "We'll never be back again and told her about our disappointment with the owner and waitress." But, she was very nice, respectful, good customer service and she appreciated us being there unlike the owner and the waitress whom waited on us. I hope this will keep many patrons from going to this restaurant and the owner might see losing business means losing money and he is the one to blame with his childish ways and immaturity! As We have all been told many times in our lives "Do on to others as you would want...
Read moreMy colleagues and I went here on last evening ordered the Buffalo chicken dip and although it came out very quickly it wasn't very tasty. The owner then approached our table to inquire about our experience I began to tell her we did not like the dip and asked if we could exchange it. She tried to explain the ingredients and how fresh it was made, but the issue was not so much the quality it was the taste we didn't like. She said we couldn't exchange it, but we could order something else; however we would yet be charged for the appetizer even though we didn't eat it. The owner made no attempt to ensure her customers had a pleasant experience in her establishment there was no apology given nor a suggestion for another appetizer zero attempt to make things right. We weren't looking for a free meal we were looking for an overall great experience which we did not get. A word of advice: Good customer service goes a long way it creates good rapport and return customers. People want to know that you genuinely care about their experience and want to take care of them in your establishment. Our first experience was our worst and indeed our LAST!
In response to the owner
It seems as if you've missed the point yet again. It should not matter if no one else complained about an entree or if everyone complains about it, good customer service would have you to make things right with your guest no matter the nature of the complaint. Even if it's just an apology 'I'm sorry this happened to you what can I do to help' goes a long way. What is the point of coming to the table asking how everything is if you have no intention to make things better? It seems as if this is a normal behavior for you being that your server shared with us about a guest that walked out of your establishment without paying last week because you refused to accommodate them for their salad. No you can't make everyone happy, but you could at least try since your working with the public. Shout out to your bartender who was embarrassed and apologetic about the actions of her boss and took care of the bill for us... you didn't get a dime from me! I happily took my business to another establishment. All is well...
Read moreThey only mean "sit where you like" until they need you to move out the way to use your table for a larger group. I was here for dinner with several of my girlfriends. Our server Bri was excellent until the manager Deb deployed her on a mission to get us to move from the table we occupied. She sent Bri to our table several times in an attempt to get us to move to another part of the restaurant for a group that was arriving later. The restaurant was not full, there were plenty of tables available. After numerous iterations of us saying we were fine and we'd like to stay where we were, the manager Deb herself came over to again explain she wanted our table to create a section for the group. Terrible hospitality management, for which I will never eat here again. If you need to reserve a section in an open seating restaurant do that in advance of the dinner crowd. Aggressively badgering us to move was unprofessional and very rude. The average bar food isn't worth the poor management.
See the management’s snide, condescending snd rude response below. As I said, the food isn’t worth coming to a place and having to interact with this. One point they made is correct, I did not experience hardworking, polite people serving good food. My experience was the exact opposite. It should matter, each and every experience of a customer that walks in the door if this establishment. I’m not wrong for providing a review of my experience. It was valid and it was terrible. A simple “we apologize for your experience” goes a long way in accountability and customer...
