Where to start? I’ve been coming here for over 15 years. The atmosphere is great here. The decor is a a true deli feel. They’ve renovated/remodeled a lot since I’ve been coming here through out the years. And it has only improved for the better. always clean. Always well taken care of. I’ve had basically everything on the menu here. But I’ll stick to my favorites in this review/experience. I go for the French roll bbq chicken sandwich. Cheddar cheese. How it comes. Remove lettuce and tomato or else it’ll get soggy. Don’t want that. Extra bbq sauce. Can’t go wrong with this choice if you enjoy a good bbq chicken sandwich. It’s chicken slices not chicken chunks/pieces. You won’t be disappointed trust me. Their bbq sauce is made in-house and it shows. With the right amount of spice, sweetness and not to much vinegar. Really enjoyable. The Mailman. A well known sandwich on their menu. Honey glazed turkey, Muenster cheese and provolone. Fully loaded with mayo, mustard, lettuce, tomato and pickles. This sandwich is legit. Usually get it on sourdough or French roll. But that’s really your choice. Whatever bread you enjoy is what this sandwich will make you want more! I want to keep writing about their food but I feel it’s getting a bit long. I think and I hope I’ve made my point. Everything is good here. Fresh ingredients with amazing staff and a great owner. Would I recommend this deli? Definitely. It’s definitely one of if not the best deli in LA. And I say that seriously. There are many in their different ways have a different experience. But this place is a true American deli. I’ll definitely be returning. And I hope that everyone else enjoys this local favorite.

I'll start off by saying my buddy comes here regularly. This is his spot and for the longest he's been telling me that their wings are better than the all-American classic, the great, undisputed America Deli.* I finally get the chance to try it and before we even leave to go he passes me the menu to look at. WOW, this place literally has everything. I was immediately tempted to go for one of their chicken sandwiches. I tried to remember my healthy eating goals and thought about opting for one of their salads, but after all the hype I had to get the wings. To set a baseline for the quality of wings I'm using to judge Mike's Deli, here in LA my wings go to is either Hot Wings Cafe on Melrose or wing stop. The wings here reminded me of wings you get from a pizza spot. I got lemon pepper wet (that's hot and lemon pepper mixed or sprinkling the flakes). If I ordered here again (which I would), I would have them fry the wings extra crispy. The flavor was very spicy, but good. Mike's is huge and has a crazy amount of snacks from brownies, cheese cakes chips, and drinks. Overall I enjoyed it. *I've recently become more of a JR crickets fan when I'm in Atlanta now and the American Deli I went to in LA was ok, but not like I remember growing up.

Hey, you guys, so I'm back with my review for Mike's Deli. It smells very fresh when you walk in. I talked to one of the ladies working because we noticed the owner in the picture, and she said she has been there since the beginning and he works damn near every day. I was blown away because you barely see an owner that's actually working taking orders. Anyway, I ordered the Italian sandwich with bacon and a corn beef sandwich with extra meat on Rye and some fries. I did really enjoy the sandwich, but the bread could have been a little more soft. Last time, I ordered the wings, and they were ok. I also ordered two cakes, lemon and strawberry, and they were really good. I got the cake on the counter where you pay not from the fridge area because they are different. All together, the total was about 57.00. They have a variety of drinks and chips and pickles and sides you can order as well. I really like the setup of the restaurant. I always get the boars head pickles because they are so good.

Extremely rude manager. It takes a lot for me to leave a bad review because I work in the food industry and I know how people usually use Yelp only to highlight the bad and not the good, but I had such a bad service experience I had to say something. I was missing an item from my order. No big deal it happens. The problem arose when I called to inform them. I spoke with a guy who seems to be the same guy who others have complained about who doesn't really speak English well and is very rude. Well that's exactly how he is unfortunately. He told me to go back and they would give me the missing item. I told him I was already home and wasn't going to drive back 15-20 mins for the item. I made a special trip just to go there in the first place. I asked if they could just give me a refund for the one item and he said no that I had to go in with my receipt and my card and we can go from there. I said I just wanted a refund and why couldn't he do it over the phone. He said he couldn't. I asked for the manager and he said he was the manager. I asked him his name and he said "don't ask me my name" and hung up. Wow!!! I called back and he answered again. I asked him why he hung up and asked his name again. He finally said his name was Victor. We went back and forth for a bit but got nowhere. He claimed he couldn't do a refund over the phone and needed me to come in with my card. I've worked in the restaurant industry over 10 years and have never worked anywhere where a refund couldn't be done over the phone. They took my order online but need me to be there in person for a refund. Doesn't make sense. Seems to me like he just doesn't know how to do it. Won't be going back there again. Food is ok not anything great so definitely not worth the...

Any other time this place deserves five stars believe it or not their service along with their food is superb except for the very last time I decided to patronize this place. My problem was very minor but the person on the phone who “said”his name was Mike (I surely hope not because of all people he should know better) delivered one of the worst customer service experiences I’ve had in my life! In addition not only did the problem not get taken care of but I was put on hold only to be hung up on. Of course I call back only to be put on hold again and hung up on until finally I called the other Mike’s deli downtown for them to let me know that that particular store/branch on Slauson was the corporate/main office, Which is what I was asking for in the first place to complain about the horrid customer service I received earlier. Knowing that I would have to call back and ask for Mike I did reluctantly however Sylvia answered the phone and AGAIN🤫 as I mentioned earlier, delivered the best customer service ever I did mention to her a bit of the problem and she tried to cover for him but of course it was useless with Mike being the manager/owner of this joint. This is just a reminder that customer service is of the utmost importance when running a business for those who don’t know. I’m not saying don’t eat here because the food is excellent just be careful when and if You run into Mike in...
