They are definitely flipping rooms at this motel! This motel 6 is run like a maximum security prison! The hallways and rooms reek of marijuana smoke and cigarettes. They are very good at staging scenarios so you will forfeit your incidehtal fees for sure. & wont get any self care or rest here! There is loud noise from cars on highway windows facing. They charge for parking daily. I had a flight scheduled to catch and am a female senior, travelling alone. For that reason strong security appealed to me didn't think for minute it would turn tables on me! Rooms seened clean, window opens AC works yet no amenities.I reserved a room to rest & freshen up self care after long drive ro airport before flight home. First thing greeted me was strong marijuana smokd setting me off because I'm allergic the concierge was super nice and changed my room to a great room. I realised how tired i was and feling ill so u decuded to book anothed night 3 rd party res. I was a littlf late coming down with out coffee or breakfast. They challenged my driver license fine the night before demanding I get & show my passport then they demanded .move my car. I needed to get to Starbucks next door then the Assistant Mgr told me i have to change rooms first after I was settled jusf5 because there wasn't a refrigeratorin my room which I did not need. It took my self care time for hours so they could rifle through my room? They have cameras definitely in rooms as well as everywhere. They are so strict with guests long lines in lobby only one concierge . Humiliatingl...yet they allow all kinds of rif raff in to make money. So after that I settled in proceeded to order Uber Eats rest again prepare to shower. Next thing I know armed security is banging on my door . I told them pls I dont want to be disturbed am doing self care to catch my flight thought about checking out early. Then an hr later decided to postpone since night paid on limited funds after a a long stressful business trip with a MVA 10 days ago to recover from. So I did some yoga went to bed As soon as im comfortably playing meditation to sleep they start banging violently on door screaming I have ro leave! I was half dressed! Security pushed in door demanded I get dressed in front of them with door open leave the premises in middle of cold night!. I told them i paid the night would check out in the am.as customary. They threatened arrest for tresspass if I dont leave. I called front desk& 911 . Both I &Police spoke with front desk explaining i didn't do anything was trying to get organised rejuvenate & sleeping! Contacted third party thankfully ibsured room to request a refund so that I would have somewhere to go they had already tied up all my money in incidental fees earlier that afternoon they told me that they were going to charge me for 2 rooms because I wasn't fast enough to change rooms! I am disabled senior at the end of my business trip. They showed absolutely no compression for me whatsoever during the day. 2 managers one of them with really bad breath attempted to work me over run me ragged.... I paid for this? Ended up having to leave at 2:00 in the morning willingly then they wouldn't even let me out the gate for the parking made me sit out in the cold for an hour I went to try to find another room ended up sleeping in my car for the remainder of the night I don't suggest that you stay here! It's a freaky nightmare..On my way out I realized what had happened here lines of people in the lobby from Airport waiting for a room they had no availability so they were kicking people out who they felt they could easily kick out in order to allow other people to stay in the rooms they monitor spot clean the hotel 24/7. For people who are getting off flights who need a room right away.,?who are willing to pay more money..I use the third party to pay cheap for a two-bed Queen . So much for that. So this is a flip situation. The Police said they have dedicated overnight parking lot for those cast out in the night to sleep! happens all the time they...
Read moreMy wife and I have been consistent and loyal patrons of the Motel 6 at LAX multiple times a month, for the past three years, frequently staying at this particular location without encountering any significant issues. My wife and I have always adhered to the rules, treated the staff with respect, and even went the extra mile by generously tipping whenever possible. However, my recent experience at this particular establishment has left me deeply disappointed and frustrated.
On a recent visit, we arrived at the motel only to be informed by the front desk clerk, Mentor, that my card had supposedly declined, rendering us unable to secure a room for the night. Despite providing no evidence of this alleged decline and having used the same card for countless previous stays without incident, we were left with no choice but to leave the premises empty-handed. To our astonishment, later that same night, my card was inexplicably charged the full amount for the room we never occupied. This blatant error on their part was the first in a series of disappointments and frustrations we encountered.
Upon contacting the management to address this egregious mistake and seek clarification, we were met with a shocking lack of professionalism and courtesy. Promises of investigation and resolution went unfulfilled, as we waited over a week without any response or acknowledgment of our concerns. When my wife called again to follow up on the matter, the general manager Alan brazenly threatened to withhold assistance if we continued to pursue the issue, a response that left us feeling utterly disrespected and disregarded as valued customers.
After numerous attempts to rectify the situation, we were offered a free night certificate as a token of apology. However, when we attempted to redeem this certificate at the same location where the initial problem occurred, we were informed that it was not valid at that particular establishment. This inconsistency in policy enforcement only added to our frustration and disillusionment with the motel's management.
Furthermore, when we returned to the motel a week later to address this discrepancy in person, I was subjected to further mistreatment and humiliation. Not only was I informed by the front desk clerk, Bashir, that my wife could use the certificate for a free night, but I was explicitly told that I was not allowed to stay there period. This discriminatory and arbitrary decision left me feeling marginalized and ostracized by the staff, a sentiment that was further compounded when security was called to escort me off the premises and informing me that I am prohibited from returning there for an entire year, all without any justifiable explanation. They just told me to contact customer service in the morning. So my wife called first thing the very next morning to demand a reason for me being banned. After being transferred and placed on hold for some time, a lady named Maria explained that I was placed on the DNR (do not rent) list due to items being left behind from a previous stay. My wife asked what visit she was referring to, and what it was that was left behind, but no further explanation could be given, she just told us to contact, the supervisor of customer care
We always make sure to leave our room spotless before we leave and we know for a fact that nothing was ever left behind. Also, even if we had, what is the relevance as to why I was put on the DNR list and ultimately leading to me being escorted off the property?! And why weren't we informed about something being left behind when it happened?!
In conclusion, our experience at Motel 6 has been nothing short of a nightmare. As loyal customers who always followed the rules and treated the staff with kindness, we expected better treatment and resolution to this matter. We can no longer in good conscience recommend this location to fellow travelers and urge others to reconsider their choice of lodging when...
Read moreAt first, seeing that I booked a Motel 6 was a bit deflating. I used Hotwire to book so the name isn’t revealed until after you purchase. But it was a reasonable deal and in great proximity to LAX with a shuttle which is what I ultimately needed so I kept it. When I checked in there were 3 ladies who looked inundated for 11pm at night and that’s never a good sign. But by there sounds of it, the people ahead of me were in a similar boat (being relegated to the quickest and most convenient option that a 3rd party site could offer) but much less experienced than I was (I overheard that one had booked the wrong date, another was at the wrong location, etc). So I waited for my turn and it came relatively quickly. The ladies were not frazzled or unpleasant. As a matter of fact they were quite the opposite. They were very engaging and warm which is crucial for any weary traveler. They got me checked in to my room in no time and even offered to help me arrange the shuttle for the morning. The next day came and I’d received news that my flight was going to be delayed for almost another full 24 hours. So I called down to the front to see what the cost of the room would be. Though I could hear the crowd of duties over the phone, Rosa took the time to quote me the rate. After confirming my travel itinerary, I went downstairs to extend my room because I didn’t want to add another irritant at one of the busiest times of day (check out). When I went down, Rosa was even more lovely and helpful in person than over the phone. I had another painless and well facilitated check in process and I was on my way. As for the rooms, they’ve gone through what I’m guessing is a modern overhaul. It’s wood laminate floors and a very Asian inspired bed setting (low and almost tatami looking). The rooms are brightly colored and if I’m being honest, it was a much better experience than I was expecting. The only thing I wish I could’ve added was at least a refrigerator in the room, but other than that I was extremely pleased with my sleeping accommodations and the new improvements to the place. But without question, in my eyes it’s the people that really bring the value. And I do not hesitate to once again thank Rosa and the fine ladies at the front desk for the amazing work they did in making me feel welcome every time...
