I thought I was being guided to a Mexican food store but it turned out to be an alleyway about a half-mile into more alleyways and way in the back of absolutely nowhere,
but if you find that this is a close place for you to get some Mexican food then you are in luck because he's are great people they're very fresh salsas and I love their service!
I'm from San Diego and I don't like shopping in Los Angeles cuz it seems like everything has bean and rice in it no matter what you ever get and if you get carne asada it seems like you're eating ground beef for a minute.
I found only one burrito at this place that did not have rice and beans in it and it was the California burrito and it did not disappoint!
check out my photo of this burrito it was actually pretty delicious I just wish it was actual carne asada and not the grounded down stuff that tasted like ground beef, I also got a beef taco that was basically a small corn tortilla with Jack in the box style ground beef inside of it and then some cheese and lettuce on top of the folded taco, way overpriced. close to $4 it was absolutely not a beef taco that I'm used to anywhere else,
The beef taco was a disappointment it was also a surprise at the creativity that was used and I enjoyed it anyway!
I gave this place for stars for their efforts their creativity and the fact that they are technically still Mexican food although I believe there are some corners being cut on...
Read moreWent to LA for business and didn't have anytime to eat tacos, of all things. So before I dropped the rented car back at the rent a car place, I made a quick detour to Mariella's. The food is simple tacos, burritos, sopas, mulitas, tortas, etc. (Etc meaning everything else you can get at a taco truck. ) I ordered the taco plate, 3 tacos with rice and beans with cheese on top. Came out and it was simple. However, what made this place that much better is the garnish table. They had 3 different sauces. 1 salsa verde, 1 Rojo and 1 crema verde. Then they had carrot escabeche, fresh radishes, cucumbers marinated in cucumber water, lime and salt, picked red onions, chopped onions, chopped cilantro and charred jalapeño peppers with a dusting of red chili powder. This was all laid out for you to garnish your tacos however which way you liked. I got the chorizo, shrimp(deep fried) and cow head (cabeza de baca). De-fraaking-licious!!! My buddy said it was his favorite meal of the whole trip. He said it was the best way to end our LA trip. I couldn't agree anymore. Make this a priority to stop either when you arrive or...
Read moreUPDATE: I went back again almost 3 months later and this time my card was charged about 40¢ cents more than what the receipt says and what she verbally tell you. If she’s stealing small amounts to every card holder, she’s making a lot of extra money without reporting it to the IRS. Not only is she stealing from the government but also from her own customers!!
ORIGINAL POST: The food is good and nice people but I don’t know if this is a one off but it seemed shady that they charged me about $3 more on my credit card than what my receipt total cost was. When I told the cashier, she didn’t seemed surprised about it and didn’t act like that was a weird occurrence. She simply asked how much did my credit card get charged and gave me the difference of overcharge in cash. Just watch out because most people don’t check their credit cards at the very moment they get charged and the difference in charges is not significantly large for...
