I recently visited Hui Lau Shan on Alton Parkway, and it was a fantastic experience that left me wanting more. From the moment I stepped inside, the friendly and welcoming staff made me feel right at home. They were quick to greet me, answer any questions, and provide recommendations with a smile, creating a comfortable and inviting atmosphere. Their menu is impressive, offering a wide variety of dessert options, but the real standout is their signature mango treats. The fresh mango flavors in each dish were perfectly balanced — sweet but not overwhelming, with just the right touch of tanginess. I tried a few different items, and each one was beautifully presented, showing the care and attention they put into their creations. The ambiance was cozy, with a clean and well-maintained interior, making it a great spot to relax and enjoy your dessert, whether you’re catching up with friends or taking a break by yourself. Despite being fairly busy, the service was prompt, and I appreciated how quickly everything was prepared without feeling rushed. For anyone who loves mango or Hong Kong-style desserts, this place is a must-visit. They offer the option to customize some desserts, adding a personal touch to the experience. The prices are also very reasonable considering the high quality of the treats. Whether you're dining in or grabbing takeout, Hui Lau Shan delivers a consistently enjoyable experience that I highly recommend! ✅ Friendly and welcoming staff ✅ Wide variety of dessert options ✅ Signature mango treats are fresh, sweet, and perfectly balanced ✅Beautiful presentation of each dish ✅ Fast and efficient service, even during busy times ✅Authentic Hong Kong-style desserts ✅Customization options available for some desserts

If you're a sucker for mangos, I highly recommend coming here! They use Philippine Luzon mangos, which are sweet and vibrant. A flavor you can taste in their desserts and beverages. As a first timer here, my friend suggested a few favorites, but the menu does list a few popular items. Ordering was super simple as the order kiosk is self serviced. The table had a matching hard copy menu to reference the digital selections, which were prefixed with letters to help locate the subcategories: A - Handmade Mango C - Handmade Snacks E - Premium Porridge J - Handmade Fruit K - Fresh Fruit Swirl S - Special Durian Drinks I ordered 2 C2 (Mango Pudding), A8 (Mango Sago) and K2 (Strawberry Swirl), which amounted to about $20ish for four items. The strawberry swirl is 22oz and is ice blended with real strawberries! The drink is rich, fruity and super refreshing. My boyfriends love mango pudding and he wasted no time as soon as I brought them home. The pudding is laced with mango fruit chunks and the cream/milk is served on the side. We think it personally tastes best as is. I'm intrigued by their Durian menu (I love durian) and will most likely return to try their pancakes/mochi snacks.

If you LOVE LOVE LOVE mangoes, then you must try this dessert restaurant. Only SoCal location. I believe one of four in California/ America. They're located inside a nice plaza with plenty of free self parking. The restaurant is clean with near decoration. I love the white birds on the ceiling. When you enter, there's a large menu over the cashier. There's also some fake model dessert case on the left side displaying some of their popular products. It gives you an idea of what it like like before buying. I got the pamelo and mango with sago. Everything is made to order. Therefore it takes a few minutes to prepare fresh. It was so yummy and refreshing. Doesn't feel sinful since it actually has real fruit lol I enjoyed every bite! Yum yum The prices are ok. Portions are just right. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and inviting. Will be returning 100%

As a customer, I'm looking for value, cleanliness and service. Hui Lau Shan I was not able to get backstory on. Google Maps shows a chain lightly sprinkled from Los Angeles down to Orange County. We visited this Irvine location. After spicy tacos we were looking for a cool desert. Donuts and Starbucks were around. But the donut seemed too sweet, the Starbucks, pricey. HLS has custom assembled deserts centered around mango. Enter this store and see the A line offerings of mango with different complimentary ingredients. We had, A7 I believe a dish two people could share. Included was a bowl layered; black rice, 1/2 coconut milk and 1/2 mango puree, the diced mango. Presentation is superb but the light natural sweetness of all the ingredients was really a nice experience. There was also Durian pancake. A square shaped green thin almost crepe pancake. Filling was light creme fresh and Durian puree. My first time having Durian it did have a slight foretaste unique to Durian not unpleasant. Then the texture of the cream and fibrous apple sauce like Durian. An interesting desert. !!! They have seasonal dragon fruit drink in house now (11-2021). There are other parfiet like drinks available Palmetto for example. Pricing was reasonable around 25$ for two to share two deserts. We will be back to continue the light desert adventure. Last. I'd mention two staff people were very helpful and knowledgeable about the deserts and...

My wife wanted to try this as she is a big fan of these kind of desserts. We got the mango pamelo sago I believe. It was 8.50 dollars. I dont mind paying for something very expensive if the item is good, however this dessert came in a large plastic bowl only filled one-fourth of way up. I asked why this was not at least half way filled ( I know they ran out of small plastic) but they argued back to me that this was the size for what I paid. I didnt want to create a scene as they didnt just give me benefit of doubt but decided to argue back. I know what small size is, the large plastic should be at least half way. But all my wife got was about an inch of dessert. I completely found this distasteful and disrespectful. I do not ever want to come back here again unless the management can make an apology for my experience as you know, it is ok to charge almost 10 dollars for something but if you give something that is not what it is supposed to be? That is a disrespect to the paying customer. I believe the rushing two gals and the one guy just made a mistake and made ours very little, but instead of just adding more and rectifiying it, decided to uphold their end and argue back at me and my wife. For 9 dollars? Please...
