I want to leave my first review about the drink we tried today at this wonderful café. We ordered the Blueberry Matcha and asked for boba to be added. However, when we picked up our drink, the boba was missing.
We went back to the café and asked if they could remake the drink. The staff was incredibly polite and cheerful—they happily replaced it for us without any issues and made a new one for free. I really appreciate their kind service and excellent customer care.
The drink itself was amazing! The flavor was very unique—we tried it for the first time, and we really enjoyed the combination of matcha and sweet blueberry. The boba was a perfect addition, making the drink even more delicious.
It was the end of the day, and I believe it was just a small oversight—things like this happen! This didn’t affect our experience at all; in fact, it only left a positive impression.
Great service, friendly staff, and a lovely little café. We didn’t have to wait long in line and got our order quickly. We’ll definitely be back to try more drinks...
Read moreBest popcorn chicken in the OC!
Long overdue review: I've already been to the Irvine location at least 4-5 times since the soft opening. I used to drive all the way to Artesia and so I am super happy it's now closer!
I've been searching for the best popcorn chicken in OC and it took many boba shops later until I decided to go to Artesia to try out Bopomofo and the rest is history.
They're drinks are also delicious 😋 my favorite is their Brown Sugar Buzzed coffee that tastes just like my favorite coffee in Japan! So they have me as a customer for life. 👍
I love their milk is lactose free (Asian American here 😂) AND you can swap to oat milk for free!
Orange Wang is popular with the kids and my baby girl loves it. I get it 50% sugar so it's not too sweet. Tried their brown sugar milk tea with pudding, it was a nice alternative to the brown sugar coffee, if you're looking for a nice black tea with some sweetness. I have yet to try their actual boba and some other teas but I look forward to my many trips...
Read moreThey've got creative drinks, welcoming vibe, and a standout hojicha latte. I have been to plenty of boba spots, but Bopomofo Cafe feels different: it is a modern Asian American café that blends Taiwanese and Chinese flavors with a fresh, contemporary twist. The menu is full of inventive options such as strawberry corn milk and honey walnut shrimp burgers, but I kept it simple with a hojicha latte, and it was excellent. The roasted tea flavor came through beautifully, balanced with just the right amount of milk, and not overly sweet. The space itself has a relaxed, community feel with friendly staff who clearly care about the details, and the ordering kiosks make the process easy. While the drinks are a bit pricier than your average boba shop, the quality of ingredients such as real lactose-free milk with oat milk available at no extra charge makes it worth it. Overall, Bopomofo Cafe is a place I would happily return to for both the drinks and the vibe, not perfect but definitely a welcome addition to...
