So Saturday afternoon my cousin picked me up we were in Southern California for my Grandson's birthday and I got hungry she asked what did I want & I wanted a really good burger so I did a search and came across Mooyah in Irvine, well after reading a couple of reviews not to mention they have a really good rating we were sold ,to Mooyah it is. So once me and her arrived and walked in, my oh my did it smell delicious. I ordered the cheeseburger with fries & a Hershey's Chocolate Milkshake and my cousin ordered a Bacon cheeseburger, fries & a cookies and cream shake. We didn't have a long wait which was a good sign and as soon as we got our meal we started to chow down, please trust me when I say they would give Five Guys, The Habit, Nations etc, a cold run for they money, the patty was very well seasoned & juicy, the right amount of lettuce , tomato, grilled onions & cheese also the bun was soft yet held up perfectly never once did it get soggy , had a nice almost buttery crunch also my cousin wholeheartedly agreed that was one of the best she's had in a very, very long time and please don't get me started on those super tasty fries plus along with one of the best shakes (again it's putting the other joints to shame) I / we ever had. Seriously yall need to open a couple of locations in the Bay Area you would be giving the burger places a cold run for the money and I have some locations yall could look into , I'm sorry , but I am jealous that there isn't a Mooyah out here but I'll say this much next time I'm back visiting best believe I will be returning to have another enjoyable meal . And the employees are on top of their game excellent quality and service 👌, please keep up the great work you guys deserve it. Trust 💯

Walked into Mooyah and I could smell their fresh baked in-house buns and knew this was gonna be a good one! They use 100% certified angus beef in their burgers, hand cut their veggies and fries, and use real ice cream in their shakes. How can you go wrong here?! You can't! The restaurant itself is clean and spacious. They have an open kitchen so you can see all the action while your meal is prepared. Their service is super friendly and efficient. If you need a quick meal this is your place. If you want to linger and nosh, this is also your place. We had the double diablo burger which is by far my favorite burger with spicy pepper jack, jalapeños and Cholula mayo! We also had the MDC and the paleo. Both also very delish! We chose to try both the hand cut Idaho fries and sweet potatoes fries, I am partial to the sweet potato fries for sure. To wash down our meal we had a mint chocolate chip shake and an Oreo shake. You can tell this is real ice cream!! Best of all we noticed a happy hour sign where you can get half price shakes Monday - Friday from 2-5! I will be back for that deal!!

Came here last night 2/1/23, the place was really good. I ordered off their online menu, the indulgent BBQ. I was honestly impressed at how good it was, the burger looks small but is very filling, idk why but in my picture it looks like a slider lol, it’s not though I promise lol. The fries, in my opinion were a tad too salty but may have just been my batch. I really liked the option for a side of cheese to dip your fries lol which I also think was a bit on the salty side haha. My burger was great though, the flavors were there. I took a star off only cuz I personally think it was a bit too salty but that may not be the case for everyone

Show me the Mooyah! I love burger places! The best way to describe the burger style is to think of Five Guys and Burger King "have it your way", but make it not suck and taste much better. If you are a serious burger eater, Mooyah is worth a try, but if you are all-in on the In-N-Out hype have fun going there to wait in line and pretending the burgers are "cool" like iphones. I think In-N-Out fans enjoy talking about the food more than eating it. Just saying. I love a lot of different burger places for different reasons. To help with your burger decision I have created the Five Factors for burger eaters. I wish I could write my final graduate studies paper on burgers rather than financial models, but this review will have to do.

Five Factors for a burger eater

  1. Burger style (High-end, seated restaurant, fast casual, drive thru, customization) Mooyah is customizable. Pick the bun, sauces, and veggies. The options are plenty, more than most places. Think of having a Pieology selection of options. This can be a pro or con depending on your creation skills. I'm more a purist because I like a good bun with quality meat. I also like veggies but only enough to give the burger some size and depth. Cheese is optional especially if it cost extra.

  2. Fries (steak-cut, skinny, ends) The fries are delicious and seasoned well. Sweet potatoes is another option. I don't always order fries, but it's part of the burger experience. Imagine if you could have Five guys fries with and In-N-Out burger. That would make me believe the hype.

  3. Shakes (hand made, ice cream, syrup)/ Beer Haven't tried the shakes, but they looked great. Shakes are not needed for the burger experience. A good burger is a double base hit. Good fries is a single base hit, but having a great burger, fries, and shake is a grand slam.

  4. Setting (dinning, To-Go, order online) Casual with flat screen TVs. The setting is not a sports bar, but I could imagine enjoying a burger with friends. Plenty of seating. Order online option available which is always a plus during the lunch time rush.

  5. Pricing (Above $10, reasonable, cheap, $1 menu) I believe the pricing is fair. Around $10 ish for a combo. I worry less about the pricing than the satisfaction of the meal. At $15 plus burger places the mean must be outstanding while a sub $5 burger is not worth it if you have to order more than one cough In-N-Out. Mooyah does pass the test. If you need two hands to eat the burger, that's a good sign. This indicates that your burger is not just a snack.

Closing comments Depending on which of the five factors matter most to you will determine which burger joint you go to. If you have time to dine-in, I recommend this place. I will try the online option next time to see how fast and easy it works. If you want good fries, Mooyah is for you. The burger was quite filling and I didn't have the urge to order more food. It's hard to put Mooyah in a specific category because it's slightly different from the other places. Like I stated previously, the best customer for Mooyah is someone that wants a Texas company burger like Burger King and a Five Guys (east coast) type style. Mooyah is for the mid-tier casual burger lover. Mooyah is the better option to step up your game from a BK or Five Guys. However, I don't think this place will satisfy you if you are a fan of The Habit, Smash Burger, or Fuddruckers, because those places are...

Hands down the best. I know most 5 star ratings seemed paid for and I assure you I'm not important enough to get paid this is just at the top of my favorite places for burgers fries and shakes (I have not yet tried the hotdogs cause the burgers are just too good to pass on) All their food is delicious and offers plenty of toppings to customize your burger. Even their recommended premade options look delicious but I am always the type to do the build my own burger. **Special side note they actually have a very good gluten free bun that does not fall apart on you. My gf is gluten free so its hard to find good burger places and luckily my favorite place is now also her favorite thanks to those gluten free buns so thanks Mooyah!! Meat is good tasting and surprisingly even the chicken options were super flavorful and not dry at all. There sweet potato fries are as good as you could expect but this is also a rare place in which I actually choose their normal fries over the sweet potato. Lastly if you can manage the extra food or if you just go for a desert like I sometimes do, you have to try their shakes. They put plenty of whatever mix in flavor you choose. What I hate about most shakes is at some point its just ice cream and the mix ins seem to have disappeared all too quickly but that's not the case here. I love that they put so much in them that there is usually a small pile of mix ins still left over when I get to the bottom of the shake. My favorites are either the Reese Cup or the Cookie...
