Dear readers, you probably asking yourself why this guy gave 3-star review to this restaurant, well let me describe my experience and I will let you make your judgment. All my family loooves ramen and we are visiting different places all the time, so this food is very familiar to us, and if you are reading this review and living in this area you also know that we have many ramen places. This time we were looking for something interesting and wallla we saw āMarufuku ramenā, the interior is really nice and modern, and the staff was friendly except hostess which wasnāt that pleasant (weeell, not everybody are the same š), we set down looked at the menu and were a little surpriseš², and the surprise was the prices for the ramen, but we are already here so letās order and see what do we get for this WOW price for ramen soup. I have to say our ramen arrived fairly quick, but then we had another surprise š¤, the size of the dish, I would say it is ok, but again we are comparing with other places in our area and it was smaller, at this point we looked at each other and the next thing we all said without words, lets dive and taste, I can tell you, it was tasty but I canāt say WOW good, the broth was good and reach, but small amount, the noodles were cooked almost right, however the amount of meat was very small. I did enjoy the taste. So what do we have here, a WOW price for a OK smaller portion of soup, I would say, nice to try it, though not sure if the price justify the dish, but this was my experience, hope you, dear readers will do your own decision. Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe have visited Marufuku Ramen numerous time and have always loved the food and received excellent service. However, my visit to night was the first time we received poor service. Our server, Tiffany, was not at all concerned with customer satisfaction. From our first order of drinks and appetizers, she seemed to be very impatient like "just give me your order so I can go". When we received our order the ramen seemed spicier than normal. It was okay for me but too spicey for my wife. We called Tiffany over and asked if something could be done and even suggest she just have the kitchen poor out some of the broth and replace with less spicey broth. She said she could not do that and offered to bring some water to poor in to dilute the ramen. This is the first time I have ever been in a restaurant where the food was not satisfactory and be told they would do nothing to remedy the situation. After Tiffany brought the water, she never came back to even see if that was okay. At the end of the meal she just kind of dropped the bill and didn't even ask if there was anything else. When she came back to run my credit card in the portable transaction terminal, she stood over me watching as I totaled the bill and tip. Hopefully this was a one-off situation, because we really love the food and would like to continue eating at...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreService was a bit slow, but we're so used to being helped so quickly that it makes us have no patience. We waited about 5 mins before getting seated, the place was empty with 3 tables full. Once seated, we waited another 10 mins before we got a menu, but they seemed short staffed. The host was a server (female), and I see our server (male) dealing with a table of 10, so I understand. I am normally a tonkotsu kinda gal, but today I felt brave and wanted to try something new, and it did not disappoint me! I went for the Chicken Paitan Ramen DX, which comes with a very large, well seasoned chicken thigh on top of a bed of bean sprouts, and it came out sizzling hot! š„ it came out with the chicken karaage. The Chicken Paitan Ramen was thick, creamy, and rich. It came with chicken breast, which is usually not my favorite, but it was moist and peppery! I ate every last bite and drank edc all the broth! I tasted the Tonkotsu Ramen, and it was delicious as well, but because they have the Chicken Paitan, I think I would go for that every time! If you're in Irvine, definitely stop by! This place...
