Pelicana Chicken Irvine — Restaurant in Irvine

I went around 7 pm and they were really busy because of the takeout orders, but I decided to dine in. I ended up ordering tteokbokki, cheese balls, and original fried chicken with the smoky hot sauce.

The tteokbokki tasted just like the Korean street food tteokbokki! I loved their sauce so much.

The cheese balls were very chewy and just exactly how I like them.

As for the chicken, I would always just get the original, but I decided to try the smoky hot sauce for a change. it was crispy, moderately spicy, and I liked the smoky flavor that lingered in my mouth.

Im glad I don't have to go all the way to Buena Park since this location opened in my neighborhood. Perfect for if I’m craving Korean fried chicken! As for the interior it looked nice because they have like a sports bar you can enjoy.

I would highly recommend bringing friends or family so that you can try the different flavors...

Found this place a couple years ago on Google maps, recently saw a video about it that made me really want to check it out.

The menu isn't huge, but the chicken is amazing. This has to be one of the best Korean Fried Chicken spots I have tried.

I've been to many places over the last couple of years that have K.F.C. but Pelicana will be a stand-out, go to from now on.

The prices seem a little high, that's what I thought, but the quantity is plenty, the quality of the chicken is excellent, and the flavor is so good.

We had an order of the Peli Shaken Fries. They came out fresh, super hot, and tasty. The sweet cheese flavor sprinkled on top is a nice touch but not anything special. None of them lasted...

This has become my favorite Korean Fried chicken place in Irvine ever since it opened. I always get the Crispy Chicken which is double fried. I’ve tried 2 flavors so far, the soy and honey soy.

My all-time favorite is the honey soy. I always order this at least twice a month. The flavor and the crispiness are just addicting. The batter is not too thick or oily. A half-chicken order comes with a small radish and a whole chicken comes with a large radish.

Although lately, they haven’t been consistent with the amount of sauce slathered on the chicken, sometimes they’re very little, most of the time they’re perfect. I do wish they had rewards programs.
