We just moved here from Connecticut in April. We love Texas so far. I was born and raised in Puerto Rico, originally from Caguas.
I was looking for a Puerto Rican restaurant near us and found Adobo. This restaurant left me open-mouthed -- in a bad way. I couldn't believe what my girlfriend and I experienced.
We were so excited to finally get take out from a Puerto Rican restaurant, but it was so disappointing.
First impression when we came in: Dirty tables. It was dark, and there was no music playing. THE KITCHEN ... Smh. As I waiting and getting closer to order, I can see that the kitchen was dirty. I saw the lady at the register dealing with cash and going into the kitchen WITHOUT washing her hands. She was cutting lettuce and tomatoes, gathering food for orders people were waiting for. Her hair was in a long ponytail, and it should had been put up as well. YOU ARE DEALING WITH FOOD.
On top of that, the wait was soooo long. Because we'd witnessed the condition of the restaurant and the way the food was handled, we decided just to get empandas. They were the worst empandas I've ever tasted.
To the owner of this restaurant or the ones in charge:
DO YOU CARE ABOUT THIS RESTAURANT?? Is this the way you represent our island?? If you say you do, you are LYING to yourself because IT DOES NOT SHOW.
I will never go back to this restaurant. And to those of you who are still eating here, watch closely and see how your food is...

Is embarrassing what today is, is the worst experience I have ever had in a "restaurant" if you even can call it that today, having a bad service is one thing, but been left waiting acting like you don't see me don't wanting to serve someone is crazyy, this girl should not be working there if she doesn't want to take orders as simple as that. F this place, I'm never in my life coming back here and if everyone ever asks me for puertorican food recommendations I'll make sure to let them know to never...
Β Β Β Read moreWe finally went to this Puerto Rican restaurant. I will be conpletly honest. We ate and it was delicious. However, the churrasco (skirt steak) was not skirt steak. It was regular steak. I ordered mofongo. It tasted good but as a "mangu" (Dominican dish) not Mofongo. I was born and raised in Puerto Rico and this mofongo was not mofongo. Again, it had good flavor but not mofongo. Also, I ordered an 'alcapurria' and it was undercooked. (Please look at my pictures for reference.)The meat was delicious but the 'masa' was not cooked all the way. The place is humble and cossy! I loved the decorations and the constant videos and music playing on their TV. The place needs some repairs and inprovement, but it is a good place. We do not like where it is located. Also, we Puerto Ricans are know for being happy people. Somehow, I did not feel that the staff was happy, nor welcoming. Only one of the servers (whom we believe it was one of the cooks as well) was the sweetest. We thank him for his seevice! Overall, it was a good experience, but not impresive enough to be back! Thanks...
