Visit this new restaurant yesterday, they were slow we were the only ones there my mom, my one year old son & I. Services was very average seems like the server didn’t care to be there, we got out food it was not fresh, ordered my son a chicken tamal It was heat up in the microwave super dry and tasted old…. We got some pupusas as well reheated my mom tells me this feels sandy like they dropped the food I was like no way, then she pulls a piece of what it seems to be a piece of the plate then she flips her food just to find lots of tiny pieces of the plate!! I go and check my sons plate which luckily he was to busy playing and did not take but 2 small bites there was some small pieces of like glass ceramic whatever material the plates were made of. I told the server how both of their plates had i asked her did you dropped their food?? She said no no noooo there was a plate that fell and broke next to their plates but we didn’t think much of it. I told her you can take them we don’t want that. She takes them does not come back for a few minutes bring them packed to go and says I removed the baby’s food. I said it’s ok we no longer want it we did not eat it please just take them off the bill. Which she did not. My mom is the kind of person who does not like to complain and neither do I but that was just plain wrong, I used to wait tables never ever would I serve food like that. Worse $40 ever spent!. And not...
Read moreToday I tried this Salvadorean restaurant in Irving for the first time today. I have tried many authentic Salvadorean restaurants so I know what our food should taste like. I was disappointed that their horchata is a blend of milk and water, an authentic horchata does not have milk so I wasn’t expecting it to come out that way. When I asked if I could change it to something else, the waitress straight up denied my request and said I would be charged for it. These aguas are $6 for a small to medium size serving. This was not worth the price. Next, I ordered their Asado típico plate, which on the menu showed to be a generous portion of tabletas and beef steak. When it came it was one tablita cut in half, and very tough. The beef steak was a small portion with 3 pieces or yuca, 3 pieces of plantain served with beans and rice (casamiento), which tasted very dry and like it had been reheated for last 2-3 days so definitely not fresh. For the price $21.99, definitely not worth it! The pupusas tasted like they are premade and heated to serve versus made fresh. Overall, the food is typical for a buffet style restaurant but not at these prices. I was very disappointed in the quality of the food. Irving has many Salvadorean restaurants and competition is fierce. This place falls way behind on taste, freshness, portion size and quality. Sadly, I won’t be going back and do not recommend wasting your...
Read moreI wanted to give this place a try and finally did so last night. The place is very nice. The waitress was friendly but I was there for about an hour and she only checked on me once. I got the breakfast plate and was immediately disappointed by the small fried piece of meat they serve. The pupusa was so hard it almost tastes as if it was reheated. The rice was so mushy I couldn’t take any more of it. The fried plantains were also hard and cold. The eggs were topped with some salsa that tastes funny. I ordered an horchata and it was nice but the cup had a funky smell it made me stomach turn. The only thing I did like was the chips with bean dip. I waited for over 20 minutes for the waitress to come so I could ask for my ticket and she never came. I had to go up to someone so I could pay and leave. Then, my check was $27. I don’t know how since they don’t provide a ticket and just ask for your card. So unless the horchata was $10 , I don’t know how my ticket was that high. Final statement, I do not recommend this place at all. Please look elsewhere for some good and freshly made Salvadorean food because this...
