PJ's Coffee - Irving — Restaurant in Irving

I visited this PJ’s on Saturday, August 9th with my little sister, right before picking up keys to my new apartment. We ordered two Wedding Cake Cold Brews (mediums, one with light ice for her tooth sensitivity).

First, I was told there’s an extra charge for light ice. I understand upcharges if it means more product, but with cold brew it made no sense, they could have just poured it into a larger cup or accounted for it differently. It was a first for me.

Second, there was a barista-in-training sign on the window, but it didn’t look like she had any oversight. When we asked which drink had light ice, she couldn’t tell us, and honestly, neither could we.

Then came the taste. The drinks were AWFUL. Not just “not great,” but truly undrinkable, no coffee flavor, no almond or cake flavor, just bitter and strange. I had planned to bring them back, but I was moving that day and tied up with movers and cleaners. Honestly, I wouldn’t have trusted a remake anyway.

Finally, the price was higher than advertised. Apparently, they charge extra for the syrup that actually makes it “Wedding Cake” flavor, even though the menu listed it as a standard item with no upcharge shown. Between that and the quality, I felt misled.

Do not go to this PJs they will hire anyone. Today I went up there to place an order before work like normal (2 days a week). There is this light skinned mexican girl that worked the drive through that is 100% disrespectful. She thought she could get away with being disrespectful to me this morning and I wasn't having it. As a business owner myself I wld have a microphone inside to listen how my employee's spoke to my clients. She should be fired and not hire again anywhere. This generation assume they can say what they want to say and not get CHECKED on their attitude. We'll She had the right person today. I tell my employee's to treat my customers right bc this is where your paycheck comes from. I used to go there alot. I won't spend my money there anymore and it's specially because of that 1 mexican girl. And while being disrespectful she was laughing with her co-workers too. So hopefully by me getting loud set an example for them not to treat customers wrongfully.

I have been to this PJ’s twice now. The first time, my order was wrong. I had ordered an iced latte and a chai to bring to my girlfriend at work. I received my chai, thankfully. But the second drink was also a chai - and not even the size I ordered. Not the biggest deal considering I like chai, but I don’t understand how you can mess up an order with two drinks when you’re not busy. I checked my receipt to make sure I had ordered correctly, and I did. The staff was also rude. I just recently went back to try it again, and this one might have been worse. I ordered the same thing I did last time, essentially. This time the order was correct, but it tasted terrible. The chai was so sweet it literally tasted like you were drinking sugar water straight from the pump. My latte practically tasted burnt and there was hardly any ice in it.
