If Google Maps had 10 stars, I would give them all to them! A couple of days ago, in the middle of the power outages due to the winter storms Texas had to endure, I saw they were still opened early in the evening, one of very few restaurants during the freeze. They were maybe 5 minutes away from closing, yet they very graciously cooked more rice for the rush of 6-7 customers in the store. Right before of all our food was getting packed, we had yet another outage and their register went dark, along with the stores next door to it. Cash became the only viable form of payment. Having no cash and unable to make a withdrawal from a nearby ATM, they allowed me to take my warm food for my family of 6, telling I could pay them over the phone the next day with my credit card if power was restored. I felt really appreciated as a customer to be allowed to leave without having to pay for our meals right there and then, not to mention our 4 children would’ve had to wait for who knows how long for me to find another restaurant open! My wife came back the next day, settled our outstanding bill, and we got the same meals again for lunch. We are now loyal customers...
Read moreFirst, there was no one behind the counter, and the guy at the register had to go to the kitchen and ask “is anyone working”? I should’ve known then that it wouldn’t be good. The female worker came out, and didn’t seem very happy. I told her that it was my first time to be there, but she just shrugged. I asked about a sauce, and she just repeated the name of it when I asked what kind of flavor it had. Then, when I decided, she just walked in the back without asking me if I wanted anything else. She was so slow, that the people behind me, who had order 2 full meals to go, left several minutes before my food was delivered to my table. The rice was cold, the chicken tasted like frozen nuggets that kids might like, and the macaroni salad was bland. Absolutely nothing tasted “fresh”, and certainly not like real Hawaiian food. My son lives on Maui, and I’ve been there several times, and I guarantee you that this food tastes nothing like food on Maui! I saw this place when I was looking for somewhere to eat, and I really wish that I had kept on looking. I would never...
Read moreOpen for dining!!! Mask required when not eating and social distancing. Great parking lot. Yes I guess they are serving meal kits if by that they mean like servings in bowls with certain items in it and you can choose from numbers 1 thru 9. They have kids meals and side dishes as well. FYI, this spot is another first for me!
I ordered the Spicy Tuna Shoyu bowl! I have not had Poke in a long time since Everything has been closed. Coming to this spot and ordering my choice of food was so satisfying! The ingredients definitely tasted fresh! I love love all the extra toppings we can get like dried see weed, scallions, sesame seed etc.
The staff were so nice and friendly. Service however seemed like they were a bit backed up at the time we came in. Maybe they were short staffed? I don't know. But sure was worth the wait!!! So, overall the food gets 5 stars service gets 4! But, I will be back for that...
