Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen — Restaurant in Irving

One of the worst experiences I've ever had. Will never eat at theone in Fort Worth area ever again

This location near DFW Airport is very nice and clean on the outside. Neighborhoods ok. I pull into the drive through around 945PM after a long day at work.

I wait probably one minute at the window before this lady simply says "One moment" kind of rudely the speaker. That should have been my cue to drive away right then ...but there were thunderstorms coming and it was almost 10 p.m. and I didn't want to mess around looking for something else to eat when I'd already made my choice. So I wait... And it's not like it was busy, there were only two people ahead of me and no one in the restaurant. Finally after 2 minutes or so, the rude lady says "go ahead with your order." No I'm sorry, no hello, nothing but rudeness. I gave her the order, a fish and shrimp dinner. And she gives me the total and orders me to pull around. After another minute or two, it is my turn to pay. I give her my card, and she just looks down at me with dislike when she takes it. I can literally feel the dislike in her stare. After giving me the card back she tells me to pull up and wait. This is actually not that unusual for the shrimp/fish dinner as sometimes they have to make a new batch as I don't think it's ordered that often. So I pull up and wait. Maybe another 5 minutes or more go by, I'm really getting annoyed by now. Then the door opens and I hear her coming out. She doesn't hurry toward me but shuffles her feet, walking as slow as possible with my food. She hands it to me and this time she at least says have a good night. I opened the box and looked in. The fish is coming apart although it seems hot at least. The box looks a little low on shrimp, but at least everything's in there so I drive off. I start to eat it, fish was mediocre, biscuit was okay. Then I grab a shrimp. It was cold. I grabbed something else that felt like a shrimp, it was chicken, whatever. I eat a cold shrimp, blegh... Then I bite into a shrimp that literally tasted like cardboard. I mean it was disgusting... There was something else in there that was hot, I thought maybe it was a piece of fish so I decided to try it and whatever it was it was super spicy, not what I ordered. Started to feel sick at my stomach and threw the box out when I got home. If I could give zero Stars I would... Worst customer service (very large Latin woman, did not get a name). And terrible food. I wonder if something was done purposely to my food. Not sure what the hate was all about, I did nothing to deserve it. Will be contacting the manager and maybe calling...

Based on the reviews. It's obviously whoever owns this establishment doesn't care about the quality of service themselves. I wish I read the reviews before visiting this location. I visited this establishment on 07/29/2025 at 9:45pm. I'm delayed in writing my review because I wanted to leave my emotions out of it. I pulled up to order the 2 piece special. Was asked white or dark. When I said dark. She told me they only had spicy meat. I asked what time did they close. She said 11pm. I asked were they out or no longer cooking chicken. She repeated no more.. no more.. I asked about the wings. She said spicy. I asked again were they out or no longer cooking chicken. She repeated again no more no more. I asked what did they have that was regular because at this point you are focusing people to eat spicy chicken. I told her I would pull around. I asked again what did they have she just looked at me. I asked was the chicken sandwich regular. She said yes. I told her I would take that because I was going to file a complaint because there was no way they ran out of chicken. I paid. She gave me my change back that was incorrect with no receipt. I had to tell her how much she owed me. I then asked for my receipt. She daid its broken. I was amazed cuz to my surprise it broken when I want to file a complaint.. She gave me my sandwich. I asked her how could I get a receipt. She asked for my change back I'm thinking she was about to provide me with one. She then asked for me sandwich back and said no and waved her hand. I said so since I want to file a complaint and request a receipt you wanna take my food back?? I said no‼️‼️ please get the Manger. She said no. I told her I wasn't moving until one came. The manager finally came but was hesitant to do so. She didn't wanna give me her name to address her and she told me the only way I could get a receipt was to order from the lobby. I said wow this is insane. The older lady that works the window does not know English. She has to be someone's grandma. This has to be a family established because she really didn't understand what I was saying nor how to count back. Please fix this. I'm compelled to make sure everyone should be working at this...

First off- I absolutely love Popeyes chicken.This Popeyes location in South Irving on Beltline Rd. is the worst Popeyes location in DFW. The chicken is always old, over-cooked, and never fresh and hot. The oil needs to be changed badly and it leave a disgusting flavor on the chicken but they obviously do not care. The sides are awful and does not even taste the same as other Popeye locations. The red beans rice is tasteless and the mashed potatoes and gravy is disgusting as the gravy is so thin and watery. The workers can barely speak English which is insane especially in the drive thru. The location in North Irving off of 635 is only slightly better. Save your money and go to another city besides the South Irving Popeyes and drive to Dallas or get KFC instead. I promise you that you will 100% be disappointed eating here. I would assume that this restaurant is not a franchise because if it was, then they clearly do not care about their customers, serving this awful food. The location should be closed and shut down for stealing Irving residents money. Churchs chicken on Story Rd. has muuuuuuuuuuch better chicken and sides than any Popeyes location in Irving. I hope someone at that location reads this review because that location off Beltline is an absolute crime scene and management should re-evaluate who they hired because other Popeyes locations outside of Irving are awesome, so why can the Irving location be just as awesome those outside of Irving. Do better Popeyes in South Irving because you just lost another customer. I wouldn't eat at this location if the...
