Golden Krust Caribbean Restaurant — Restaurant in Irvington

I made a purchase on uber eats on July 15 from golden Krust the store called me and told me they don’t have what I want so I said cancel my order they said they are not able to cancel on their end. If I had cancelled on my end I would still be charged the full amount. So I did not cancel I ordered from a different store I figure uber would cancel my order but when I call the store again and told them I was charged they told me to contact uber eats regarding this matter and to have uber eats call their restaurant.

Golden Krust did not uphold the honesty and integrity that customers deserve, especially when it comes to delivering food. Dishonest practices like claiming to have delivered an order when it was never received can cause significant frustration and disappointment. It's important for businesses to be transparent and responsible in their dealings. The fact that Golden Krust lied about delivering my food, they not only misled me but also showed a lack of respect for their customers' time and trust. Customers rely on accurate information and dependable service, and when that trust is broken, it can have lasting negative effects. I am very disappointed in this establishment and will never buy from this...

Omg! I used to eat here all the time….. During today’s visit to Golden Crust Lyons Ave, I had the opportunity to try their oxtail and curry chicken dishes. While I had high hopes, the experience left me with mixed feelings.

Oxtail

The oxtail dish was, in a word, satisfactory. The meat was tender but lacked flavor, though the meat was falling off the bone with ease. However the gravy was rich,and savory so it complemented the oxtail well, providing a hearty and comforting taste. The seasoning was well-balanced, with a hint of spice that did not overpower. The rice and peas, was pretty good.However, it wasn't extraordinary—good, but not exceptional.

Curry Chicken

Unfortunately, the curry chicken fell wayyyyy short of expectations. The dish lacked the flavor and even the aroma of a good curry. The chicken itself was slightly dry and the sauce bland.It’s almost as if it was prepared frozen and then reheated . It was lear that this dish needed more time/ attention to the seasoning and preparation to bring out its full potential. I am sad I wasted my money!!!!! The dish isn’t worth the torture of eating. Let this be a warning pay the extra and stick with the oxtails the curry is not hitting at...

When I spend my money at an establishment like Golden Krust, I expect good food, but more importantly good service. I called ahead to place my order and was hung up on twice and when I asked to speak to someone in charge I was told I'm asking for too much info and hung up on once again. I didn't get the name of the female that answered the phone, but the owners need to understand that the people that they're hiring to be servers in their business must be able to represent the kind of business they want to run, if not maybe that person should not be there. I will not be going back and I will encourage others...
