We liked their outsoor seating, especially in a nice weather with our dogs. However, their food was mostly disappointing. The only thing we liked was their baklava. Everything else was a huge let down and way overpriced. They charged us $15 for a flask of tea, but it was obvious they've poured coffee in that flask before the tea and haven't washed it. The taste of coffee in our tea was strong, how a Turkish restaurant messes up tea should be a sign to leave immediately. We ordered their breakfast tray which was super expensive and definitely not worth it. Tiny portions of random stuff and they charge $70 for it. The omlette in the middle of the tray was not even warm, a real Turkish person would be purely offended by these huge misses. I understand they're new and still learning, but maybe they can adjust their prices accordingly and not charhe a 5star experience price when at mosf they can provide a 2star experience. Some of the staff were really nice though. Overall, it ended up costing us more than a steakhouse for just a small brunch and we left...
Read moreThey have authentic Turkish pastries that are hand made by the owner with real quality ingredients that were shipped from Turkey. Most Turkish places around either have the Middle Eastern touch and flavor (strong spices f.e.) or Americanized to appeal more clients. To be honest this is the only Turkish place I will keep coming back since it takes away my homesickness both with the products offered and also with the owners hospitality. She welcomed us with a smile and was checking on us to see if we need anything else or if we want more of the stuff we ordered. Its location also provides a good seating choice, its calm and good for kids (we had a stroller with us and had enough space to sit). I keep seeing the posts on their Instagram account so I know it gets crowded during weekends but its been a long awaited spot so I can understand the excitement from Turkish community.
Try the Turkish bagel (simit) and Pogaca (savory cookies with filling like dill weed and feta cheese) if its your first time but everything is authentic and...
Read moreThis place is great! We went for the Turkish breakfast yesterday morning (a random Monday) and in my experience restaurants don't do so well on weekday mornings. Not this place! The owner greated us the minute we walked in and walked us through her homemade offerings. My husband is from Istanbul so there wasn't a lot of explaining to do. We got the Turkish breakfast with cheese borek, simit, fresh homemade bread and of course it's not complete without Turkish tea. The food quality was excellent! You can tell she takes the time and effort to select good types of produce and ingredients for her food. I would say pretty much everything we had was homemade (maybe the exception of olives and cheese) and you could taste it. The atmosphere inside felt like being in a little cafe by the Bosphorus in Istanbul. Bright, light, airy and gave out warm comforting vibes. The owner is so inviting and kind and you can tell she loves what she does. We will definitely be back for more because they also have...
