got the Spinach and Cheese Quesadillas starting off with the chips and salsa - I thought the chips were fine, but not particularly crispy - and the salsa was pretty mild
During my order - I made a replacement to swap the tomatoes out with mushrooms - and this turned out a lot better - as the mushrooms were quite plentiful and good in the overall dish
This meal consisted primarily of spinach and cheese (obviously) I thought these two mixed together really well The spinach was cooked really nicely, and this combined really well with the jack cheese
I thought the jack cheese was the highlight here - it stuck really well to the tortillas, and deliverd a perfect cheesy taste to each bite
Also, the guacamole and cream sauce over the quesadilla created a delightful blend when mixed together to smother the overall tortilla It added a really flavorful layer to the top
There are a couple things I didn't really like about this meal however The first was the quesadillas were plated weirdly. There was a normal quesadilla - but then under than there was sort of like a half quesadilla, more like a single tortilla - with a lot of cheese and some mushrooms but basically no spinach or sauce. I really wasn't sure whether that was supposed to be another quesadilla or part of the original one - regardless it was strange
The second thing was the meal portion It's obvious that this restaurant's goal is to save money by providing really large portions of beans and rice compared to the actual ordered meal, but even with that I was disappointed in how small the actual quesadilla was. I would say the quesadilla took up less than half the plate compared with the large amounts of beans and rice. After finishing the quesadilla (and eating some of the beans and rice) I still wasn't quite full - which is something you should never say about a Mexican restaurant - especially considering that my quesadilla cost nearly 20 dollars. Not great value there at all
Overall, the quesadilla was quite good, but the portion size and the average beans/rice drag the meal down a...
Read moreDO NOT TRUST THIS PLACE! I called this restaurant and spoke to their catering manager to place a large order for my birthday party. I triple checked the pickup location and time and ensured they had the right name. They told me I could pay when I come pick up the order, so luckily I didn’t give them any payment information. Weeks later, at our agreed upon date and time, I arrive at the restaurant to pick up the food. The restaurant had no idea what I was talking about and said they did not have a catering order. I was so confused because I had made the call on speaker with several other family members who had witnessed me making the plans — so I knew I wasn’t crazy. They insisted that they have no idea what I was talking about and said their catering manager was not available. The store manager came up to me and said they can make the exact order I placed but then wanted to charge me TRIPLE what the catering manager had told me, to the point where I could not afford to place the order. To ensure that I hadn’t made a mistake, my family and I called every Mexican restaurant in the area and no one else had this catering order. I have no idea what went wrong, if the catering manager had never communicated the order, or if the manager was trying to make more money off of me — all I knew is that had a big birthday party with family who had flown in from out of state but I was left with no food.
TLDR: placed a large catering order but the restaurant pretended they have no idea what I was talking about and wanted to charge significantly more than what I was...
Read moreMy family has been coming to Las Margaritas at least a few times a year since we moved to Issaquah ten years ago. Honestly though, we haven't been into the restaurant in a while and we were pleasantly surprised when another waiter, a gentleman who has served us in the past, remembered that we prefer our water with no ice and served it to us before we could specifically request it. That was truly above and beyond exceptional service.
We love their fresh tasting chips and incredible salsa. It's always a perfect way to start our meal, and the drinks were incredible. I ordered lychee martini and it was delicious and my mom loved her margarita.
My favourite dish is the camarones a la diabla and even though it wasn't on the menu, our waiter asked the chef and they were able to make it for me. My parents ordered their go-to of the quesadilla with chorizo which also came out cooked to perfection.
Despite how busy it was (being cinco de mayo) our food came to the table in under twenty minutes and was absolutely incredible. I loved how spicy the camarones were and the beans and rice are always my fave.
Las Margaritas is one of those small businesses that truly make you feel like part of the family. Their staff is kind and welcoming and we appreciate how efficient and accurate the service is every time we go. I love the homey vibes and my family will continue to come here for the best Mexican...
