"Back in the day" review-Always great good and the servers and workers are always so friendly and go above and beyond! Love this place and how they dont make fun of my butchered pronunciation of their menu items! ^^^ I miss when this place had great service, great good, great prices and not rap music for the atmosphere
Edit 11/12/18 We ate in. Our server was Taylor. Our wait for her to take our food order was ridiculous. We ordered appetizers which took over 20 minutes to get to us. She claimed they just came out, however they were luke warm. Food tasted good. Server Taylor only refilled our drinks when we called her over because they were empty. Only asked if everything was okay after our food was almost gone. Very disappointing visit...especially since it was a special occasion.
Edit 02/13/21 we will no longer be dining in at this restaurant. 3 times in a row bad service. Our server I didnt get her name (didnt give her name and forgot to see if it was on the receipt). She was an african american woman, big hair and gold eye shadow (hope that helps identify). She asked what drinks and ran like a bat out of Hell before we could say we were ready to order. Then she brought us our waters after 10 mins and ran away again before we could speak and place our orders. We did not get to place our order til 30 minutes after sitting down. Our food came at a decent wait time. Main course was good. The baklava was very bitter. She didnt ask choices of bakalava either. She was very inpersonable and felt like she was applying for a job at UPS.....throw it down and run fast as u can before any interaction. Was not asked how everything was til we were finished eating. Very disappointed. This used to be a great place and one of our favorites to dine in. The last couple of years the service has been awful. Will never dine in again.
Edit: 01/24/2024 ordered our meal pick up, came home and found our meal we ordered with no onions had onions all throughout. My boyfriend is severely allergic and one bite caused his throat to close up. When I reached out to the restaurant they offered a refund but I would have to come back to the restaurant which is another half hour drive time. The lady on the phone even asked me why I even came there if it was far away (shopping in the area) which is extremely unprofessional. Ive given this place way too many chances. Never again. Now Im stuck with inedible food and an urgent care...
Read moreHands down among the best, relatively quick casual meals in town. Best gyro meat I have ever had and their tzatziki is on point. I've dragged dozens of friends and dates here over the years to try lamb for the first time. To my knowledge their gyro is a blend of beef and lamb.
I have a soft spot for going in and getting an appetizer pita and tzatziki starter and a buffalo or traditional gyro.
If I'm tryna be fancy and have enough in my bank bal at the time I'll go all out and get the gyro platter (effectively the same amount and relative price as 2 gyros) or the gyro deluxe platter (1 serving gyro meat, PERFECT rice, pita (whole, half or quartered) and a greek salad on one plate with house dressing and tzatziki.
It is so fun to go when they are busy and see the spectacular flame show of their Saganaki. (Fried cheese) which is lit at the table with a chorus of "Opa!" Definitely a FUN way to make a special occasion with out of towners memorable.
Admittedly, the avgolemono and wedding soups aren't best in town but still decent quality and hit the spot on a cold day.
Service staff is nearly always exclusively women; I have never had someone inattentive or unkind in all my years of patronage. This is, I believe the second opened location of the 5 total in operation today, the original on Cleveland is quite small. This establishment, being in Belden Village across from the cemetery on Everhard may be the largest (ive not yet been to Alliance or Akron) Green, like the original location is also quite small. But the consistent quality of product will keep me going to whichever one is closest geographically when the hankerin' strikes!
Prices have raised incrementally over the years, but is still pretty reasonable compared with a lot of restaurants in Belden.
I have only tried the baklava a couple times but it is ALWAYS so tempting to look at in their dessert case by the register.
They serve alcohol and at least the green and belden stores include a small 3-5 seater bar set up. I most often come near open or for lunch and as such I have never seen anyone drinking there. If I ever do, perhaps I'll pop in for a couple shots of Sambuca- a Greek favorite licorice liqueur(hard to find most places!) I only haven't because no one wants to be 'that guy' drinkin in a family style restaurant.
All my good wishes and support for you and all of your employees in perpetuity....
Read moreIf I had to describe my last visit in 1 word, I would have to say "disappointed". I really enjoy the Green location, so we decided to try this one out. I want to start off by saying that our waitress, while attentive (sometimes too much so, as she wouldn't stop hovering over our 7 month old), didn't appear to be in the right frame of mind to be working. She was definitely throwing off those Im drunk or high vibes. That being said, she told us that they were short staffed in the kitchen and that certain food items may take a little longer, unless we ordered gyros because the meat is precooked and they just need to throw them together. Rather than chance a dinner that exceded our time limits, we ordered 3 gyros, 2 sides of fries, an order of onion rings and an order of the stuffed grape leaves. Well, that didn't do much for us. She brought out our fries and onion rings about 10 min after ordering and said she didn't want them getting cold. Too late! The fries were cold to the point that they were dried out and the room temp ketchup warmed them up a tad. I was slightly perplexed with this delivery, but thought our gyros would follow right behind. Wrong. Another 10 or so min later we got the rest of or food...minus the grape leaves, as they never made an appearance. By this time, our cold fries have only gotten colder ti the point of not being very edible. Maybe my expectations of being served food that is hot and fresh is too high....Idk. Regardless, much like the grape leaves, I don't see myself making an appearance back to this location. I will however continue to support the...
