First time eating at Jack's. I inadvertently mistaked it for Jack in the Box at first. Sandwich size left much to be desired, especially after naming the burger, the big bacon. As the pictures attest to, burger though, mooderately tasty, was about 3 to 3 and 1/2 inches in diameter. The two patties of meat they used were tasty but combined at 1/8 inch thick each. They added up to about a quarter inch of a patty. The chicken sandwich was simply that, a tasty perfectly cooked breast of chicken with a couple small pieces of what appear to be pickles (see pictures). The frozen crinkle fries tasted about like what you would expect from frozen crinkled fries. And the apple pie was comparable to that of the other food change that carry the hot apple pie under the heat lamp. Overall, I give Jacks four stars for good tasting chicken but at approximately $13 for the two sandwiches (the chicken sandwich was part of a combo that included a 20 oz drink, the apple pie, the crinkle fries, and the sandwich for $5.99) the cost of the burger sandwich with its feeble meat amount added another six bucks and I could have done without that. A little pricey for...
Read moreI wanna say that I REALLY love Jack's restaurants! Years before they built the Jackson store I always made it a point to stop in Alabama when I was traveling. And also eat at the ones in Adamsville or Corinth too.
But this Jackson store was a disappointment. We ate there about 2pm and the store was filthy. None of the tables were cleaned. The condiments and drinks counter needed to really be wiped down. The floor mats looked like they hadn't been vacuumed in days. The sweet tea urns had receipt paper that was wet and redried to them designating which was sweet and which was unsweet.
Behind the counter was equally gross. The floors desperately needed a broom. The stainless steel wall needed to be cleaned. Under the heating lamp and food storage area was underneath storage that had random boxes that were strewn in there and needed organizing. The front counter also really needed to be cleaned as well as the lobby.
It's possible they had a major lunch rush and just hadn't had time to clean. But it wasn't the experience we are used to. I gave this review 3 stars because our food was fresh. Had the food also been bad, I would of...
Read moreThis location has very fast, friendly, accurate service. The food is freshly made and hot even when it isn't a usual meal time. The husband had a burger and I had the 3 piece chicken finger snack, which comes with crinkle fries. We also ordered a fried apple pie. I had to wait for my chicken to cool off before I could eat, which was great. It was all very tasty but I didn't think the pie was as good as the old fried McDonald's pies (before they switched to baked) and it was definitely not as flavorful as the Taco Bell caramel apple pies. We didn't get any, but there was an ice cream counter with 6 or 8 flavors where you can get cones or bowls. The women's bathroom was very nice and clean with nicely stained full length wooden doors on the stalls. I wish they had a bigger selection of side items like thinner fries or onion rings as my picky husband doesn't like green beans, mashed potatoes, or coleslaw and thinks crinkle fries...
