RJ's Burgers & Ice Cream Co. — Restaurant in Jackson

My wife and I were looking for a place for date night and we came across the Facebook page of this great place that had ice cream nachos. I said 🤔 ice cream nachos. I have to try that! We talked about going all week and honestly I had been looking forward to it. Fast forward to today. We get there and my wife and I get double smash burgers and seasoned fries. When I tell you the burgers were nice and fresh. They give you a nice variety of toppings for the burgers to choose from and don't get me started on the seasoned fries. They were so good. My wife had the lemon pepper and I had the cajun. The food was nice and hot as well. Now on to the main event the nachos we initially went for. These ice cream nachos were on a different level. I've had all different ice cream places in Jackson and I can say the ice cream wasn't overly sweet as it checked all the boxes I was looking for. The waffle chips complimented the ice cream very well and the consistency of the ice cream was right on point. I would recommend RJ's one hundred times over. I think the service was fast and the staff was very pleasant. We even had one of the staff(owner) come out and speak with us and ask how our food was. Tried this place today, and boy was I surprised!! My family and I are fairly new to the area, and have been trying to find things/places to visit around town that we like/enjoy. RJ's Metropolitan Ice Cream Co. certainly topped the list for all of us.

We ordered a burger, chicken hoagie w/bacon, chicken hoagie, ice cream and a shake. The food was better than most around town! I didn't try the ice cream myself, but my daughter enjoyed hers. My partner wasn't a fan of their shake, but taste is subjective in my opinion. The service was great, everyone had smiles and it's sooooo cute in there!!

I do have a few suggestions for the community and store. To the community, please understand, it's a family owned business, and they hire local teens. Don't be so harsh with your judgements as some of them are still learning how to navigate the customer service field. Be helpful and supportive (this come from reading the other reviews). To the business, invest in trays. I watched numerous people get their food in bags, to eat inside. You have a lot of product going in the trash by how you're serving your in-store guests.

This is a very good ice cream place in Downtown Jackson. The interior features fun decor appropriate for an ice cream parlor. The dining area is small but nicely arranged. The ice cream is outstanding. I highly recommend Nana's Banana Pudding ice cream. The Chicken Hoagie was also good and the House Fries were great. The prices were fair and the counter service was fine. The only reason I did not give this a five-star rating is that it took more than half-an-hour to get our food. With a hangry 3-year-old, that's a bit annoying. It was clear why this was the case as they were churning out to-go orders like crazy. We were so far back in the queue because there were so many on-line orders ahead of us. They're busier than they appear from the foot traffic. We finally had to order our ice cream (which came up quickly) to give our granddaughter something to eat because the sandwich and fries were taking so long to get to us.
