This was the best donut I've had in Jackson so far! I was looking forward to trying these donuts for awhile now. I moved here from CA and missed my old neighborhood donut shop. Sometimes my mom will go get a dozen from the donut shop by our house, but in my opinion they're much too dense and heavy for my liking and don't have a good thick icing. I feel the same about the donuts from the bakery at the grocery store. So, today I was up early-ish and out running errands and decided to go grab a donut. I got a chocolate glazed. It was light and airy. It was first glazed ( like krispy kreme) and then topped with a nice thick amount of tasty chocolate icing. I ate the whole thing as soon as I got back to my car and considered going back to get another, but didnt want to go overboard. I will definitely be returning for more, hopefully soon!
UPDATE: I was thinking about these donuts since my last visit and went in again today. This time the chocolate doughnut wasn't glazed first like before. Maybe last time they ran out of chocolate and decided to make the glazed into chocolate? I think they should make them like that all the time. It also didn't seem as light as before. It wasnt bad, just different. You know when you've had something before and are craving it again and it's not the same? A bit of a let down. I also got an apple fritter this time,...
ย ย ย Read moreI saw this place on the south bound road trip and despite just having breakfast, I felt obligated to take some donuts to go since I was just passing through. I hope you readers appreciate the pics, since the attendant stated that she thought I was a donut spy or โthe competition.โ Fortunately for southern hospitality and after how I explained that Iโm a foodie, her look of suspicion seemed to decrease. She was kind enough to tell me that they make the donuts on the premises which is a big plus. In New Jersey, I notice most if not all donut chains (only one brand dominates) has started to have the donut making centralized meaning most stands have donuts delivered to them, so it doesent taste as good IMHO. Thus, whenever I see a donut store I have not tried or seen before, I take the effort to give it a try.
This place did not disappoint. The red velvet donut was moist, yummy, and I could taste the cream cheese in the cream cheese icing top. The bowtie was also good, soft in texture and just the right amount of glaze, a place worth...
ย ย ย Read moreThis has been my favorite donut shop in town for years. Until today my 5-star review was up for just over 2 years. However today I went in grab a box of my favorite donut holes. Unfortunately they were old, hard and no sweet glaze on them at all. A few flakes on the plain but thats it. I tried a few of each, however, none were eatable. It was a waste of money to sell me old donut holes. I debated on re-doing my review but she sold me trash for regular prize. I tipped like always because i thought i was getting my usual. It would not have upset me if I was told to pick something else. To sell trash at full price with no attempt at all to warn me or prevent me from wasting my money. I know you make the best donuts but today I was ripped off. I hope this pic shows just how old they were. I picked some of the worst to...
