Panera Bread — Restaurant in Jacksonville Beach

This Panera and any Panera seems to be hit or miss but unfortunately more miss than hit lately. With the cost of food these days it not really worth it when you don't get the "good" stuff. You know, the fresher food that doesn't seem to sit in the hot wells cranked up too high. Don't get me wrong I love Panera and it's the only thing I can seem to eat most days because of health issues but this location has lost its love. Come on man. Half filled Mac and cheese, burnt salty soup, sandwiches that are half toasted, mushy and haphazardly thrown together. People are gonna eat this, have you no pride? I get it, the food industry has sucked since COVID and it's not a glamorous job but jeez, have a little more pride in what you put in people's bellies! I know when I prepare people's food, the more effort I put into it the more I like my job. You reap what you sow. So please Panera, have a good hard look at what you're serving people okay? I love your food don't betray me.... I'll still try to eat it because I'm that chicken that won't say anything when I order something and I don't like it. But I might not be returning to this...

I use to like this location, until a recent transaction with them. I have a 30 minute lunch break for work, so the Rapid Pick Up order is perfect for grabbing food really quick. I drove 20 minutes to the restaurant and back, only to discover that my order was completely wrong (I ordered a sandwich and salad, I received the wrong salad and 3 pieces of bread). I called to ask if they could remake the order so I can just run in and grab the correct order so I wouldn't be too late on my break. Not only was it not made when I got back, I had to wait for them to make the correct order! The manager was very kind and understanding, but he didn't even offer me a free meal or anything to compensate for me now being 20 minutes past on my break. To top it all off, when I go to eat my sandwich after my shift (as I no longer had time to eat it on my break) they made me the wrong sandwich, giving me a chicken salad sandwich instead of a turkey, bacon, and avocado sandwich that I ordered. I enjoy Panera Bread so much and have for many, many years! This location is quite desirable due to its proximity to my job as well as the apartment I lived in while at the beaches for 4 years. I recently placed an order for delivery on 10/21/22 and while the order was fast and mostly correct, it was missing a key ingredient to make it perfection.. extra salsa verde. My order was 99.9% right and would have still been quite tasty, however, upon calling the restaurant to speak with Allison, she offered to make it right. In my opinion, she went above and beyond my expectation for making it right and I truly appreciate the special touch she gave by hand delivering the salsa verde I had requested for my warm bowl. YUMMMMM is the best adjective I can use to describe the joy I took in eating this regular favorite I have now selected at Panera Bread. Thank you Allison!
