OK, so let me start this off by saying, the service is pretty darn good for a Chinese joint. The staff are very well antiquated with politely and courteously dealing with customers and other staff members, in this field i'm blown away. But, the reason I only give three stars is for the simple fact that they only serve the run of the mill Americanized Chinese cuisine. I don't know about you but when I go out to eat, or order, Chinese food I want to keep on guessing with every bite I take. I want to have zero assurance that I'm eating pork, chicken, beef, or seafood. Not to be crass but I f*ing love cat meat, I mean it is the sweetest, most tender meat when fried and they for sure don't fry up feline. They also don't serve dog, horse, monkey, ferret or any typical meat found in traditional Chinese dishes; the closest thing to exotic, mystery meat they serve is imitation crab. Now I know what you're thinking, "Well jeeze Aaron, they're probably doing what every other Chinese restaurant does in Jacksonville and just lie about what they're serving." but believe me this just isn't the case. I did a little field study and over the course of a month ordered every dish and sent samples of the meat to the local DNA testing facility, sadly, the results, for EVERY, dish came back either pork, beef, chicken, shrimp, fish or plant material. Bottom line, if you want an authentic Chinese dinning experience head on down to Empire...
Read moreWow! What a pleasant surprise this little Chinese take-out is. They had an American woman working the phone and cash register but in the back, five Chinese cooks were working their tails off, and what incredible food they cooked. We ordered the chicken chow mein, the chicken lo mein, chicken teriyaki, shrimp egg rolls, and hot and sour soup. Most Chinese take-outs serve bland chow mein, but Bei Jing Garden's chow mein was the most flavorful chow mein that I've ever tasted, just delicious; likewise, the chicken lo mein was flawless, as was the chicken teriyaki. The menu offers pork or shrimp eggrolls, so we ordered shrimp,. They were the best eggrolls I've ever eaten, and my wife and I used to own a Japanese Hibachi. These shrimp eggrolls had a unique bite, and texture, to them. My wife is Asian, so she always orders soup. I'm not a soup person, but I've always at least tasted the soups from the many different Chinese restaurants we've eaten at. Bei Jing Garden's hot and sour soup, which was only $3.69 for a small, which was pint, so plenty for two, and it was delicious and just stocked with egg, mushrooms, and tofu. We recommend this little take-out wholeheartedly. You will not be...
Read moreHonestly would give this place zero stars if I could. Me and my husband called in to place and order and during the process my husbands phone had died. I then tried to call back on my phone and the line came back and said “phone number not in service”. So not thinking anything of it me and my husband order from elsewhere! Now this is where things take a turn. After 1 and a half hours we hear a knock at our door and then our doorbell ringing and noticed a vehicle in our driveway we didn’t recognize. It was the delivery driver guy with our food that we never full even finished placing due to above incident. So the delivery drivers calls my husband and says really rudely “well you could’ve said you didn’t want it” well we tried to call back and the line didn’t go through. After 20 minutes the store phone number called my husband about 2-3 times back to back and we didn’t answer. Then we get a PERSONAL TEXT MESSAGE FROM ONE OF THE EMPLOYEES saying that we were lying and if we didn’t have enough money we should’ve just said that….. and was harassing us with non stops text messages. You’re employees need to do better and NOT personally message someone’s phone....
