I want to give this place the benefit of the doubt because I've been a regular for a while. I've seen it change but this is based off a recent experience. Yesterday we had a birthday party booked for my girlfriend. We had it booked two months in advance, but at the same time they double booked parties so we couldn't use the area reserved for birthday events until an hour into our time there. This happened on top of there being a guy that followed us around the entire time, kept pushing in our chairs, followed my girlfriend and her family around, and started touching her presents. A family friend tried telling a staff member what was happening and we were told nothing could be done due to him having special needs. I understand that if someone has special needs they need to be approached differently, but that is still no excuse for him hovering over us the entire time and touching our own personal items. I am genuinely upset because I know this place isn't usually like this. The staff are friendly, the place is cleaned and well maintained, and you get your money's worth for the time spent there even on a weekend. I just want them to be aware of this to keep it from happening to other families...
Read moreI was recently visiting one of the local hobby shops in the Jacksonville, NC area when I happened to mention to the store associate that “I wish they still had old-school arcades”. As a parent now, I enjoy introducing my kids to the things I enjoyed in my youth (whether or not they appreciate it). The associate looks me straight in the face, and in a not-so-hushed tone, proclaims…”There is!”
A few days later, my wife and I took our children to one of the coolest places I’ve been to in a looooong time: J-Vegas. Stepping through the door was very nostalgic. Dimly lit lighting? Check. Beeps and bloops? Check. People laughing as they proclaimed victory? Check! My kids immediately wanted to jump into the revelry. The best part, aside from their smiling faces, was the quantity AND quality of games. There’s something for everyone here, guaranteed. For $10/person infinite plays for two hours it is well worth the price of admission (note: I can’t tell you how many quarters or tokens my son has essentially wasted at other, less cool, places). Thank you for the trip down memory lane - and no doubt we will...
Read moreI recently visited J-Vegas Retro Arcade and had a fantastic time. The arcade has a great selection of classic games that were enjoyable to play, and the addition of cool statues with pop culture references was a fun touch. Kim, who works at the arcade, was extremely helpful and knowledgeable about all of the games. She took the time to explain the rules and how to play each game, which really enhanced my experience.
The atmosphere of J-Vegas Retro Arcade is also fantastic, with the neon lights and retro decor creating a fun and nostalgic environment. I also appreciated that the arcade was very clean and well-maintained.
Overall, I highly recommend J-Vegas Retro Arcade to anyone who is looking for a fun and unique experience. Kim and the rest of the staff were welcoming, friendly, and truly made the visit special. I can't wait to go back and play more classic games and check out the...
