Fusion Sushi — Restaurant in Jacksonville

On Friday night January 19, 2018, a group of my friends and I went to dinner at Fusion Sushi on University Blvd. I was the first to arrive. After a short wait, I was shown to a table. No one asked if I wanted water or a drink while I waited. When two more people in our party came in, a server came over and asked if they would like a drink. I said I would like one also. When the rest of the party arrived, we placed our order for appetizers and dinner. The appetizers arrived one at a time a few minutes apart...all but mine. Mine came about 15 minutes and a reminder to the waiter later. When the dinners came out, mine did not. It was 3 inquiries to our waiter, Jason, 1 inquiry to another server and about another 20-minute wait. Meanwhile, someone had taken my fork when they were clearing the table. When my meal came I asked for another fork. There was another wait and one of my friends had to go and ask for the fork. Jason argued that I had been given a fork. When my friend explained that it had been removed from the table, Jason laughed and told her to sit down and he would bring it. Once I was able to eat my meal (I ordered the hibachi steak) the steak was so tough I couldn't chew it. In the end I brought my meal home with me and threw it away. By the way, it was NOT busy when we were there. The bill for that experience was $29.80. Needless to say, I paid that bill and did not add a tip. Oh yes, in addition to the awful service and bad meal, we observed a woman changing a baby on one of the dining tables in the restaurant. I have been to this restaurant once before and had a good experience. I ordered the same meal then and it was very good. I even recommended it to friends at work. I will be warning these same friends about what they might experience if they do choose...

Me and the better half eat there just about every day the hibachi is good and the sushi rolls are great the staff is very friendly we hadn’t ever had to wait for a table as we are regulars we walk in and seat where ever we wan to to , they know what generally we drink soft drinks we as we don’t drink alcohol and when we leave they always have a cup of our my coke for me to take home. They stop through out our meals to make sure we are having a good experience. I normally eat the monster roll and the hibachi lobster with fried rice and it’s great. We also have the hibachi salmon with vegetable and white rice. The staff is amazing as they are very welcoming to us and friendly. Out of all the sushi places we have eat at we had made this our regular place to eat. We are latinos but we enjoy Japanese food, and their tofu and clear soups are really good. The waitress who works here (I do not know her name), but she, as well as the taste of their sushi, is the reason I continue returning. Their prices are very good and fair. Their sushi and other menu items are absolutely delicious and have always been served fresh and "made to order." The waitress who is there, she is the absolute sweetest and makes the whole experience quite enjoyable. I have given her a list of complicated orders, and she understands and drills each assignment EVERY SINGLE TIME. It is rare to find a place with good customer service, let alone, consistent customer service, but this girl (waitress) nails it every single time!! Most of the time she knows what I want/need before even I do and she has helped me enjoy soooo much food based off her recommendations alone! Fusion Sushi is my favorite sushi house in Jax and when it's this good, there's no need to go looking for...
