After two visits, I'm happy to give Scramblers five stars for food quality, service and cleanliness. The crab cake eggs benedict I had on my initial visit was perfect, and any restaurant which offers my favorite meal already gets two thumbs up. This morning I had eggs & bacon, which were flawless. An additional plus were the ginormous hotcakes, which far exceed even those served at Cracker Barrel.
One minor quibble--and it is relatively minor--is the music. On my first visit, the selection seemed to be modern pop, but it was competing in volume with the tables trying to converse. Today it was not as loud, but still whiny girl pop, inappropriate for diners trying to hold conversations, or read their devices. My recommendation would be instrumental light jazz or tropical, since music with lyrics is always interfering with the concentration of those being forced to hear it. You don't ever know what stridently emotive singer is going to trigger in the mind of one of your customers, so go the extra mile and let the music be less invasive.
Scramblers has fast become my favorite brunch spot in the city, and the prices...

The food is just not good. I have been here twice and ordered different items and it is just very poor quality.
The breakfast burrito is smothered with an insane amount of cheese and it is supposed to be chorizo in it, but I'm pretty positive it is just regular breakfast sausage. It does not look or taste like chorizo. Also, all that is inside is very hard scrambled eggs and the sausage. No veggies or anything.
The French toast is some of the worst I have ever had. My son and I both took one bite and couldn't eat anymore. Hard to describe how French toast could be so bad, but it was super soggy and just loaded with too much cinnamon.
Their "croissant", is not a croissant. There are no layers or flakiness. It is like a crescent roll you get out of a pop can of Pillsbury.
I feel like small tweaks could fix the food...
Read moreWe always wanted to try this place after we saw it getting built for what felt like years. After giving them a shot today, we were just left disappointed... I got the veggie delight omlette which was okay. There was about 1 pound of cheese on it and I had to end up throwing half of it away because it just wasn't good. Girlfriend got the avocado omlette with a croissant, which also left something to be desired.
There really isn't any flavor to any of the food. I know restaurants tend to pour on fats & butter to make their food 'good', but that doesn't save this food, unfortunately. This isn't very surprising as its a franchise. The prices here just don't match the food that you get.
I can see this tasting good to other people, so more power to you if you actually like the food from here. I personally would've preferred a better restaurant being built at...
