AWFUL EXPERIENCE PLEASE READ!! My experience at this restaurant was AWFUL!!!! To say the least. My brother and recently made a visit and was greeted by a EXTREMELY RUDE AND RACIST hostess. My brother and I first said hello and asked her how she was doing and she said NOTHING AND NEVER MADE EYE CONTACT. But to everyone else before us she smiled and was very friendly. To continue on she was very short and spoke to us in a manner as though we were stupid or dumb. After placing my order she pointed saying "go sit over there and I'll come over and give you your balance" (never making eye contact) as my brother and I sat for over 50 minutes for our to go order I finally asked for the status of my order to one of the employees that continued to walk past my brother and I. The waiter brings the food right out the back and walks away. Once checking the food it was cold. Mushy. And clearly it had been sitting for a while. I asked to speak to the manager which was the SAME host that greeted us. She was once again VERY RUDE AND NASTY to me as I explained my issue. I then walked out and as I walked out she yelled out "don't come back" this was clearly a matter regarding race. I was treated as though I was NOTHING from the moment I walked into the restaurant. I WILL NEVER EVER EAT HERE OR ADVISE ANYONE...

I've eaten at Hola Cafe since it opened it's door. This is a great place to eat. The Owner and Family are wonderful. They used to make their own chips and Salsa fresh! It's still wonderful atmosphere. You need mask to enter, but once you order, your ok. They are painting now, it's gone from looking like a Mexican clay with decorations to all white. They had an outdoor patio with tables and chairs. I hope those come back! It's across the Street from a City park, it's located on Main Street, the City is redoing pipes under the roads at East 1 st Street and Main, so it is a big mess!! The have a few different Beers, I'm not sure if the still serve their Frozen Margarita's, but they were good. The food prices have gone up as time has gone by. But it's still reasonable and the quality is good too. They have 2 TV's, they have added Delivery now, so it's doubled in business! It runs anywhere from $3.00 and up per person. For a great place with friendly staff, and food that they take Pride in, Hola Cafe has really earned itself a beautiful place to eat. No Braille menu, No Large print menu's but Waitstaff know Menu well. They don't mind substituting items either. Great folks who have joined our Community and employment opportunities is a great addition to SPRINGFIELD COMMUNITY, in...

I left my old review below, but here is the update... After visiting Texas last week and eating here once I got back, I can say with full confidence that Jacksonville Mexican food is awful!  Its very bland and is really more of mexican looking food without using the mexican spices. I am wondering if perhaps the issue is that cubans open the mexican restaurants here and they just have very little know how when it comes to mexican food (The culture is known for making squished ham sandwiches, so its not surprising). But yeah, super bland. This would all be fine (we are in jacksonville afterall) but the prices have gone up. This place is no longer a value. Long story short, hit up taco bell instead, its more flavorful and has more authentic spices.

The food here is decent. Not spicy at all. Great prices. The chile relleno was a little bland but well prepared, it could definitely have used some sauce. Enchiladas were standard Fair. Beans and rice were also standard fare. Chips could have been better. Salsa could have been spicier. Overall not bad Mexican food for Jacksonville Florida. Please note that Jacksonville Florida has terrible Mexican food. I will likely return again to this establishment, as the price to performance ratio...

Looking for a spot to get a quick lunch, i opened up Google Maps and saw this restaurant. It gave me " hole in the wall greatness " vibes. I was not wrong. When we walked in, it was packed, and this is a tiny restaurant! We got a little table in the back and looked at both the lunch and dinner menu. The lunch menu had some great deals, but we decided on ordering off the dinner one. My wife got the Hola bowl with chicken and i got the Springfield, which has shrimp, chicken and steak. It was delicious! I love finding little spots like this. Will definitely be going back.

This place was easy to find with my GPS. It's small in the inside from what I could see and there was only one server whom I didnt get her name but she was super nice. I had a large cheese dip, the chicken nachos and my kid had a beef taco which came with a rice and beans. Even though there was only one server, the food came out fast and hot. It was pretty good. Next time I'm in town, I will definitely stop in again.
